YouTube Problems: Uncreativity

I also think that gamers have it harder than most. Vloggers can always bring something new, but gamers have to regurgitate stuff that's been done before and it's about having that edge that makes you popular. With luck, you'll get those few people. Those people are your carriers and then they'll spread your content.

Well if more people did do it then people would grow a lot quicker :)
YT is a selfless service where you subscribe and give up your time to watch them, however more and more people are more becoming 'me, me ,me' and 'check out my channel!'

it has to work both ways it can't just be selfish nor selfless a mix of both is good :)

Yes there are many channels based around content purely to make money but those channels usually don't get the attention they deserve because they don't enjoy what they do. Those who enjoy making content about that subject will in the end shine out brighter than those who don't.


I'm sorry. I wasn't aware that gaming in itself is considered "copying" if you weren't there in 2006. Let me just quickly shut down my channels cause clearly they are unoriginal and uninspired because I look up to other channels that do similar content to me. That the time, work and effort I put into my videos are at a loss because I wasn't there "first".

Didnt mean that. I meant the kids who go, "omg! My triple kill on call of duty will make me famous!" While there are hundreds of other channels that most likely did it better. I wasnt there in 2006, i found youtube in 2008. You just have to open up, be yourself, and do something you know in your heart nobody has done before, and do it enthusiastically

I honestly think that most of us have been wanting views and subs. But to be honest, YouTube is now becoming almost a game in itself. A popularity contest. Perhaps it has always been a contest? But although it motivates you, it could make you feel almost pushed to do well.

Exactly how I feel sometimes man :L
I see others gaining loads and then I feel like I have to force myself to do better even though i'm at a point where I myself and subscribers are happy :)
That's the problem really you just set yourself your targets you can't achieve and it gets me down :L
Just set your own targets and don't compare yourself because that's when things go pear shaped and you fall off the path you were taking :S

With that, i come to my main issue:
Rant channels- say the same thing, usually have either 12 year old hipsters or trolls

Gaming channels - play the same games as big guys; commentary is not fun to listen to

Reused ideas- to give you an idea, yesterday i saw a kid who copied a smosh video and remade it, and claimed it was his and continued to post a video that smosh stole their idea, even tho it was made 5 years earlier

High standards- no pro camera, no
Pro audio? You dont make burst out laughing? Im just gonna leave you here with a dislike without constructive criticism!

Comedy channels that aren't that funny (like us, even tho we are doing it for fun!) - smosh wannabes trying to be famous so they can make it rain by failing miserably at comedy
