YouTube is Removing Videos - Are You Affected?

I find it strange that Gregory Chism from Toy Freaks basically agreed with his channel's termination. “While it is disturbing to me that anyone would find inappropriate pleasure in our video skits, I deeply appreciate YouTube’s concerns for my family and I could not be happier with having had this remarkable experience,” Chism said. People have been telling him for a long time that he was wrong, but he kept piling up millions of dollars. His response leads me to believe he is trying to take attention away from him to prevent a public pressure campaign that could lead to criminal prosecution or a lawsuit. Daddyofive tried to defend himself and public pressure got criminal charges on him. I would be willing to bet that a LEO has already started to question him.

As a matter of fact, there are several cause of actions that could be exercised against Gregory Chism at the both the federal and state level. He certainly has deep pockets. I can't think of anyone more deserving of punitive damages for the irreparable harm he has caused with bad baby and such.
Probably trying to make nice with YouTube so he can produce content again under another channel. I assume that's the game plan for most of these YouTube cartels that were terminated. To come back and find another way to game the system. One kids channel appeared to be using prostitutes in their Elsa videos. Or those were the keywords used. They're just going to come back with new tricks.

I had 5 videos permanently demonetized. Completely harmless videos. One of them had million views. I made the fateful error of renaming some of my vids with "bad baby" or "poo" keywords to get associated with some of these big channels. But they were not bad baby or poop videos at all. Even thumbnails were kid friendly and none of that graphic weird stuff. Was Just bad luck for adding those keywords for SEO.

My problems are tiny problems compared to others. At the end of the day theres only so much we can do if we plan on being part of the ecosystem. YT is still the best performing platform out there. Greg chism is either retiring on a yacht into the sunset. Or he's still hustling.

daddyoffive probably commited one of the biggest offenses with his channel. Now his new channel familyOfive already has 200,000 subscribers within 4 months. Still doing similar kind of videos I think. Already rebounding so quickly.

I'm going to appeal my demonitized videos later when this stuff blows over and when I finally have a YouTube manager.

I wish the best of luck to the rest of you. Cuz If daddyoffive can do it..

Hi, I'm New.. I was creating "Wrong Heads", "Learn Colors" etc animation type videos and recently got "Monetization Disabled" Strike on my channel. Is I'm doing anything wrong? Video Examples: /watch?v=TlzQPreBawM

On my Monetization Tab under Channel > Status and Features, It's showing "Monetization on this account has been disabled due to repeated submission of ineligible videos and/or insufficient documentation."

The "wrong heads" is the problem. They are scared kids will start cutting off other kids heads and putting them on wrong bodies, and seeing what happens. It'll probably start innocently enough, some kid will behead a fly and bee and swap the heads, then they'll do it to poor Marshall and Skye, then progress up... you get the drift.... Plus you've got all the ISIS beheadings, so ye, beheading and playing with heads probably not the best idea going forward...[DOUBLEPOST=1511940771,1511940653][/DOUBLEPOST]
Hey guys I just received this email:
Good day, I hope this message finds you well.

I understand how important monetization is for your channel.

I would like to let you know that in recent months we've noticed a growing trend around content on YouTube that attempts to pass as family-friendly, but is clearly not. While some of these videos may be suitable for adults, others are completely unacceptable so we are working to remove them from YouTube.

We are taking aggressive actions to ensure a safe experience for users. As a result, when we find channels we believe are masquerading as family content we will be demonetizing the entire channel.

No worries, while we're not able to respond to every request, we’re reviewing your input and working to address issues as fast as we can. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Thanks for your kind understanding and cooperation as we continuously review your channel and address this the soonest.

At least you got something. Must have been an Aussie "no worries mate" is our phrase down under.[DOUBLEPOST=1511942194][/DOUBLEPOST]

You got to be careful - if you crash Mater or Lightning, that could be considered violence with family friendly characters. I would think you can't bury them in the sand, or go under water, that would teach kids to bury other kids in sand or submerge other kids, both very dangerous.

This "technique" you did is creating misleading metadata.
From support.google.com/youtube/answer/2801973?hl=en
Metadata refers to any and all additional information provided on a video. This includes the title, description, tags, annotations, and thumbnail. The reason we have metadata is so that you can add additional contextual information to your videos. Please do not use these features to game or trick our search algorithms. All metadata should be representative of the content contained in your video. Among other things, metadata added in an attempt to game search algorithms will lead to the removal of your video and a strike against your account.

Please select a reasonable number of tags that most closely reflect your video content. Please also only add tags to the tag section of your metadata. Adding additional tags to the description of your video may constitute spam and can result in the removal of your video.
Keyword stuffing is a common technique used by almost everyone of the big and middle to small YouTubers, but then again everyone was doing kids "friendly" shocking videos and as a result we are in Adpocalypse 2.0 now.

Lol actually that was one of my videos that got demonetized. Where i pretended to crush sphero lightning mcqueen, but i crushed a decoy instead (A plastic mcqueen container). But i also explained the trick and showed that the container was crushed instead of the real mcqueen. Since my son is kind of sensitive about damaging the good guy toys and i didnt want to make little kids cry. I put some thought in making this one friendly for kids. I think this was one of the videos where i later added “bad baby mcqueen” to the title. Thats where i messed up.

Review process is so subjective. Probably some outsourced person with tired eyes not even watching the video but denying monetization on anything because they’re done and want to go home.

Ah whoops. When i said they were not bad baby or poop videos i meant they werent elsagate version of bad baby and poop. The keywords used were still relevant to content of video and not misleading. But i meant I was using bad baby and poop keywords on kid friendly videos and not weird elsagate type of videos.

Don't the 'wrong heads' videos use copyrighted characters/images?

Yeah, trademarked. That was my first thought too.

On my Monetization Tab under Channel > Status and Features, It's showing "Monetization on this account has been disabled due to repeated submission of ineligible videos and/or insufficient documentation."

You're using Mickey Mouse, Pokemon and other trademarked characters. That's someone elses intellectual property. You're trying to make money off the back of someone elses brand. You should learn about copyright, trademarks, intellectual property I think before continuing with YouTube.

To anyone who doubts that these trademarks are enforced, there is a very successful YouTuber who lives in my city called Remi Gaillard. He's one of the original prank channels. Unfortunately for him, many of his successful videos featured trademarked characters (Mario, pacman, The God father) and he was unable to earn any money for them. I know this because he has written a book about his story and I have also met him and he confirmed it to me. ^^

Another reminder - This thread isn't a YouTube helpdesk for people uploading copyrighted / trademarked / illegal content. Contact Youtube support for specific questions. We're not here to give private channel consultations.

Let's keep this thread on-topic please. :)

Yep completely dead. I swear our hourly and daily traffic now is as if the channel had 500 subscribers.

Yt has completely killed the channel - first by deleting 8 videos, then forcing me to delete all other non-monetized yellow videos (otherwise the channel could have been deleted), then causing channel wide demonetization and i suspect a blacklist of the channel, then the algo kicked in and deranked the channel a few levels, then a day or so again deranked it to the 500 sub level.

This is what the death of a channel looks like:

Dang.. I dunno how.. your channel has almost one mil subs.. I seen Kids Corner deleted everything on their other channel, put up a few ones they had on there and have almost a million views on each.. I don't get it.. I mean I'm super happy for them! but just doesn't make since on your part.. You have helped so many creators on here, it's just not right.
