YouTube Friendships?!

All the friends I have ever really made in relation to YouTube and making videos have been through here, hopefully you can find friends here, just getting involved by helping others and talking to each other tends to lead to friendships :)

In a way, I kind of find it hard to make friends on YouTube. Most people on the forum, however, seem very friendly. This is because we know the struggle, and the struggle's real lol. YouTube is better known for their platform as a place to upload, not necessarily a way to connect with people, I feel. But if you hang around here a lot, you'll find quite a few friends and that into collaborations and such.

YTtalk is a really good place to make friends/find other YouTubers to collaborate with. I think it's all in who you talk to - like I have collaborated with YouTubers who are nothing but thirst but I have also met my best friend through YouTube.

Does anyone else find it really hard to make friends on YT?! I have had friends on it over the past year but some of them are " only in it for themselves "!
I have 2 best friends in real life Ha! I am hope to make some friends via YT, Would be nice to have friends that like to make videos together =)

It seems a bit difficult to make friends online nowadays - mostly because as youve said in it for themselves. To be honest Id love it if I met people online - humans are amazing and interesting :D

It's hard to really find friends and solid collaborators on YT but also anyehere. It's one of those things were you're not sure what people's true intentions are. That's not to say there are no friends out there yiu can make. It's just one of those things you have to go out and explore.

I have a lot of inactive "friends" - only one or two are active. Like almost everyone else said, most people do YouTube to get famous, but it's just a passion. And I totally agree.

A lot of my "friends" have lost interest because they aren't getting famous... :(

I've had success messaging a couple of people who's channels I really like (after they realise I've messaged them, anyway... YouTube's mssaging sysem leaves a lot to be desired). So it is possible, but yes I agree it is difficult to find people who actually want to be friends rather than just promote their channel.

I do have a few supportive friendships on youtube! people that I visit and talk to on a regular basis, or whenever I can!

Yeah, I know the feeling. I think a lot of people just start YouTube channels to try get famous, so the main reason they try to make friends is to get more views on their videos. Me and my friends just make videos because it's fun. I would love to make some friends on YouTube who are also just doing it for fun.
Couldn't agree more breh... I have had that in the past too...I originally had a gaming channel (hey, my name is Luigi....I had a good reason okay!!) and I had that problem a lot. I'm 28 and so found it extremely hard to connect with many subscribers because they were MUCH younger than me... When I decided to start my new channel, where I just do random things (more in the moment type deals), I very quickly started meeting people closer to my age and style. Things have just been so much easier for me this way... I am actually enjoying the community (even though its tiny) and I feel like I'm making actual friends :) I am still really new though so I might just be in the honey moon phase (LOL)
