YouTube extremely low earnings, revenue in 2016, huge drop in AdSense RPM

I recently started monetising my videos and for cca 600,000 views that I have received in one month, I earned 45$ which is patheticly low. Everywhere I look people are saying that their RPM is 1-2-3+ $ but mine is under 0.1$....... little background of my channel - 5,000 subs, retention time is above 65% on every video (my videos are on average 5 minutes long so that is around 3 minutes), I only use overlay in-video ads, more than half of my views comes from USA, not sure what more to add ... moneywise YouTube seems pointless for me at this moment because I have no idea how to improve my RPM, any advice is more than welcome.... luckily for me I do YouTube for fun

Where do you viewers come from ? External website ? Or from Youtube ?

You've already asked this question recently in a separate thread and the answer is the same: "It depends" - If you don't provide a link to your channel, then no-one can help. For someone who has just recently started, that's a lot of views. Is this original content that you have created and own the copyright to?

Here's my CPM/Rotations Per Minute and the corresponding Average View Duration for the last 365 days. There was definitely a drop for 2016.

I thought that things will going to get a little better in the second half of 2016, but I was WRONG. $0.30 RPM this month.

It's like a never ending nightmare. And YouTube says they didn't change anything. I call bullsh*t !!!
Why aren't my videos suggested like they used to be back in 2015, 2014, 2013 ??? Why I never get a RPM above $0.4 !!!
2016 is the first year when all this things happened and yet they tell us that nothing changed !! They made some changes and those changes affected some of the channels/AdSense accounts, that is the truth and I don't care if they admitted or not.

What your Average view duration on your channel in the past 30 days ?

Why do you ask the same questions when I already answered ???

" My average retention time if about 1 minute"

What do you expect ? Youtube no more want to monetize video with little average retention time.

That was always my retention time (the same in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016). Something had to happened after the usual drop.

And here is another post from you where you didn't explain your logic! :

Because as I said: " Youtube no more want to monetize video with little average retention time." Youtube is trying to combat facebook and twitter video, that's why Youtube is displaying more ads on video with big retention time than on video with less retention time.

In 2016 if you want a $1 RPM, I think's you need to make video with atleast between 3 and 4mn of retention time. With of course a large part of your viewers coming from "rich" country.

So... YouTube wants to combat the 30 seconds videos from Twitter and the 1:20 min. ones from Facebook (81 sec is the average Facebook video duration) with 3-4 min long videos ? Where is the logical connection ?!

Larten are you TROLL ?? Because you sure act like one!

If you are not a troll and just have a hard time remembering your questions and my answers here is my reply to your last post:
My average retention time always has been about 1min (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016). The difference is that in 2013, 2014, 2015 my RPM was $0.8 - $1 and in 2016 is $0.35. And the question is WHY ?

Sorry I thought your message came from a new person having the same problem as you.

And I already explained my logic 2 weeks ago on bottom of the page 2 but apparently you don't know how to read an entire thread....
