Windows Movie Maker?! :S

What I hate most about Movie Maker is when it turned into Live, you can't increase the volume of the clips. You can lower the volume, but the video 'as is' is already considered the highest volume. Sucks when you have a video that came out sounding low.

Hey you should check out POWER DIRECTOR!!. Best editing software for beginners s. it offers a lot with simple ways to do things. SERIOUSLY DOWNLOAD THE TRIAL, is awesome. Sorry for the caps but I think this will help you a lot!

okay guys, thanks a lot. Reading this I think to try with Cyberlink PowerDirector (videoeditingsoft.com/powerdirector-cyberlink/) because the functionalties seem good and it's currently at some of the lowest price rates I could found (about $49-$59). I will write how it's going on...

oh... and then there's the fact that Movie Maker LOWERS the volume of your clips automatically too. So if your original clip is kinda low (say the person talking was kinda far from the camera) the final video after MM finished processing it will be even lower. I hate it because it wasn't like that with the original Movie Maker. The original was easier to use than the Live version.

If you want something free and functional use VideoPad Video Editor (THE FREE VERSION). The difference between the free and the paid is minimal. Here is what it looks like if you're curious:

They also have a sound recording software (WavePad Sound Editor) but I prefer Audacity.

Thanks you've been a lot of help! And yeah I don't have a very high budget im only a student hehe! So I think I will do that! ^_^
I believe there's some sort of discount for students also, maybe look into that. I may be wrong, possibly may have just been for a limited time, but worth a try :)[DOUBLEPOST=1365628511,1365628423][/DOUBLEPOST]

Actually, if you goto the "Video Tab" after you insert the video into movie maker, you can then goto "sound/audio" and drag it to the right (up) and the volume is just the same.

You talking about Windows Live Movie Maker? Cause when I use it, the video's volume already starts off cranked fully to the right, as in, the video's normal volume is already considered the highest possible volume. You can lower it from there but you can't make it any higher. And it does sound a tad lower. It's even worse when you want to show clips from a past episode like, for flashbacks or something, it makes the video sound even lower in comparison to the newer footage.

Strange, doesn't do that for me. Automatically the volumes are set to 50% on each clip I drag in, I just need to edit the sound from there and up it to 100% in most cases. Although I don't use Windows Live Movie Maker, anymore.

Does anyone know if its possible to actually insert a picture into your video on windows movie maker without having to make it a new slide???
Like so that the picture appears next to you when your talking?
Or do I just need better editing software? :/

Any advice would be much appreciated! (I'm very new to editing my videos) :p
Yeah you need a better editing software :p I use Camtasia Studio 8 which is pretty good :D
