Windows Movie Maker?! :S

wow there seems so much to choose from! Although I have heard many good things about Sony Vegas I must admit!
I can't speak for any of the other software but when I asked this same question a lot of people directed me to sony vegas just because they said it was a little more user friendly. I don't know this for a fact but there is a lot of people that have different opinions.

Yes but it will be tough and the interface is not for you if you are not familiar with using at least one good video editor
The easiest and most smooth workspace is provided by cyberlink as you can see
it has received so many awards and was also given the "Best Consumer Level Editing Program" and it takes less space than vegas and runs more smoothly

But choose vegas if you are familiar with PIP things and stuff

I'm just going to have to put Camtasia out there, it is technically a screen recorder but the editing software that comes with it is simple like WMW but has more features such as layered video. It is what I use primarily for my videos and it does help make producing my videos a lot faster.

Yeah for all I know this could be a great program. I have never used it. I didn't have any real issues going from windows to vegas though. I have only tried vegas so maybe this one is better.

Either that or Adobe After Effects, if you'd like to stick with the Adobe programs, although I believe it's a little more costly..
Overall I think I'd suggest Sony Vegas, maybe you should look up a few basic tutorials on how to use the software like I did so you can get a bit of an experienced inside into the software before using it. :)

Thanks you've been a lot of help! And yeah I don't have a very high budget im only a student hehe! So I think I will do that! ^_^

I use wax to put videos into the picture, then put that into movie maker... it is free, but a bit hard to use, as you have to go to the video plugins tab, then drag the quick3d plugin into the slide you want to make smaller, than adjust its position... I dunno, if you have money, I would go for Sony Vegas. I don't have any money, but if you do, I heard it is really great and user friendly.

Hi guys, I'm and absolute beginner in video editing. I have widows 8 and xp platforms. I am looking to edit my daughter's soccer games for on line sportworx and gotsoccer. I am looking for something user friendly that also does audio. I was given an advice from a friend of mine to purchase the Adobe Premiere Elements but it's a little expensive to me. Could you advice some other software with similar functionalities but at lower price. I have read a review for Pinnacle Studio 16 which seems good enough but on a quite lower price (about $60). What would you advice?
