Why do you actually subscribe to a channel?

I only sub if I like them by that I mean personality, If they inspire me, make me laugh, smile, if they have a good heart!
I watch everyone in my subscriptions everyday, that's why I ain't got time for my own life lol :p

Im subscribe to people because I either want to watch more of there content and follow them, Or i subscribe to help people out who are just starting. Or if they are someone who I have worked with. My subscriptions really arent hardto get sadly. But I havnt cleaned out my YTing account in quite some time because I mainly watch videos on my personal account. On that account I only subscibe to people I enjoy watching!

I have sometimes got comments from channels (with 3-4thousand subs) saying "lol I liked this, please check out my channel?"... then I look at my video and see "0 likes/0 dislikes."
hmm... do these people know that we can actually see if they liked a video or not? Sometimes I wonder.
On similar notes I have got messages saying they subscribed, and when I check my sub list, I can see they aren't even there.

However, I like how this thread is still alive! Keep it coming, I got +2 subs yesterday, I hope they will be active and actually liked my content. :D

Since I'm really into art, I've subscribed to LOADS of art channels. It's always fascinating to watch how others work and can be very inspiring. There are also times where I can learn a lot from watching their videos as they may know techniques I don't, it gives me the motivation to try it myself. I've actually improved quite a bit in some areas of my own art because of it, which is fantastic and I'm very thankful for it :) I always hope that my videos can do the same for someone else ^^

For non-art channels, I usually aim for more humorous channels. Typically light-hearted stuff and not mean jokes. I like Tobuscus, JacksFilms, CinemaSins, TomSka, Awkward Spaceship, etc. It's great to laugh, especially when I need it :) I also love learning and hearing about news (domestic and global) so I'm also subbed to channels like VSauce, CrashCourse, SciShow, CGP Grey, Phillip DeFranco, etc.

Before I sub to channels I usually watch at least a few videos to really get the feel for the person and how they do their videos. It's hard to judge a channel based off one video and I hate watching trailers, they almost never tell you anything and it's impossible to really understand the channel from that alone.
