Why do you actually subscribe to a channel?

I'd say if I find a personality that really shines out. If no matter what that creator does, I'm going to enjoy it regardless.
Been thinking about this a lot recently and for me personally, it's to do with consistently good content. If I enjoy a single video, I might remember the name and check back from time to time. If I watch a few uploads and enjoy them equally then you've gotten a subscription :)

Thank you everyone for answering, as I thought it seems to be different reasoning's behind, always good to know. :)

I subscribe to channels that make a good video (or multiple good videos) AND have the potential to create more good videos. Some channels have a one hit wonder where they create an awesome video, but have a history & future of creating bad content - I don't sub to these people.

That said, I don't check my subscribers feed on YouTube (meaning I don't see all their new vids) unless I am trying to check up on my competition & make a new video to compete with one of their new ones.

I always try to remember that probably only about 10-20% of a YouTuber's subscribers will actually see every single new video that is released. Meaning if you have 1,000 subs only 100-200 people will see that new video in the first week or so. If you have 10,000 subs only 1-2,000 will see it. Maybe I'm wrong.

I subscribe to people's channel if they have a good personality and happen to make videos that I enjoy. I also subscribe if they're active and communicate well with their fans.

Basically people on here that impress me. Other than that I only have one famous YouTuber and that's SeaNanners because he never fails to entertain me.

I subscribe to a channel if I can relate. If we have similar styles I'm definitely hooked. Some other reasons can be if their content is top-notch.

if they put out just one video that i absolutely LOVE then i'll subscribe to see if they put out anything similar. otherwise i'm looking for consistently entertaining videos that will keep me coming or maybe informative videos that will keep me in the loop like Machinima does.

Any sub4sub's reading this thread? Would be interesting to see your views here. Is it simply to get +1 sub back? Or is there something else there. I can hardly believe you will watch all 999+ channels you have sub4subed. :)

Thanks for everyone so far replying to this thread.

I subscribe to a channel after viewing multiple videos. If I enjoy what I see and want to keep watching then I subscribe for easier access, instead of searching them into the toolbar on YouTube every time I want to view their video.
