when people found out

Everyone always says to me "Oh that's cool" with one of those really forced smiles. And I hate it because everyone always worships Youtubers until they find out your one of them. I mean, nobody thinks Pewdiepie isn't cool for making gaming videos.

All of my friends and family that have been been supportive/ More like neutral I guess, they don't mind that I do it, but they try to help either lol

Just in talking about it some people think that my ideas to record are stupid, however the ones that matter are the ones that will support you and give you all of the encouragement in the world!

today, mostly everyone in my class at college found out about me doing YouTube and now I have practically become the laughing sock of the class (at least im now of for 17 days so it can cool down a bit), what happened to you when either friends, family or other people you know found out about you doing youtube
It got pretty awkward, well I'll say that much. I don't even know how they found out.

Didn't really tell anyone back in Mexico, they just wouldn't understand and the internet and Youtube itself was still kinda new back then. Hell, I didn't even know how it worked at first, I thought you needed super fancy digital equipment or whatever. I found out I could just film with a digital camera, edit it on movie maker and BAM, upload to Youtube. My one friend I could trust cause he was also into gaming and anime thought the intro was cool and wanted to be in the show.

Moving to the states was easier and well, Youtube was more well known. Most everyone I know eventually ends up on my channel somewhere. I think nowadays it's a big deal, because Youtube, similar to gaming (remember back in the 90's gamers were considered lifeless losers), is EVERYWHERE. I mean anyone can whip out their iPhone nowadays to film a random fight or weird drama and upload it to Youtube on the spot. It a bit accepted now to be a Youtuber.

My family has always been supportive of it. As for others, some people would be very interested, but the majority of them didn't think much of it, or acted like it was a bit odd. Of course, now that we do it full-time and people realize we are making serious money, they are much more likely to ask about it. It's kind of a shame that is the only thing that impresses a lot of people is the money aspect, but I guess that's the way people are.

I started to tell me people my career choice in youtube and freelance photo and video when I was a sophmore in high school (im now a junior) parents are kinda uneducated on the what the internet is and are really meh about it my brother is ok with it doesnt care, then my close friends were preatty intrested in it being gamers and grown up around youtube were supportive, then some of the assholes at my school who try to be funny tryd to kinda mock me but I've always been known for not caring and being a bit weird so once you kinda take the fun outa the bullying they stop, things like going along with there attempts to bullying and calling them out on there future. But conclusion is that those people who mock you are irrelevant to your life and you dont have talk to them and they will be gone were as your fans will be supportive and as long as you love it you shouldn't care what they think just keep grinding, Good Luck and toughen up.[DOUBLEPOST=1418980010,1418979927][/DOUBLEPOST]

P.S. I realize some people take the rude jokes and such personally and actually effects them, I really don't have many emotions toward sadness so it's easier for me to be made fun of and not care, just try to think of the better or how you will never see them again soon.
