What has YouTube done for you?

Loving YTtalk
I did a quick search and didn't see this thread come up so here it is.

The questions is simple but the answers can be complex. What has YouTube done for you? Has it gotten you money? Respect? Has it boosted your self-esteem? Let's hear it, whether it be good or bad.

I'll start: Even though I've only made one video YouTube has already boosted my confidence. The feedback has been great so far and it tells me that what I'm doing is worth doing.

It has definitely boosted my confidence and makes me do a lot better in school speak outs, it also allowed me to explore the world of video creation and learn about all of that stuff. It also was the reason I found this awesome forum :D.

Well it has earned me side change to purchase my GoPro & editing program, so now I can make better videos if I have the time. I have also gotten my pups on TV a couple times which is cool (I showed off to my family & friends). It also has gotten me familiar with SEO and analytics which can be combined with my marketing degree to possibly get a marketing or social media job in the future.

It's a mutual thing I think, you get out from what you put into it. My life hasn't radically changed but it has really helped me become more confident, my family were shocked when they seen me on there given how shy I was, I still am shy but not nearly as bad as I once was. I have learned so much about YouTube too, starting YTtalk is definitely one of the best things I have done in recent years.

hmm ... ok so in therms of confidence its a 50/50 because there have been ups and lows and monetary its been the same but a key fact in the second one is that irl things are not going too well but still youtube helped me make friends, made me think in different ways that I did not realize before, so I guess its a good experience :)

So far, as I have only done a few videos not a lot. But it has boosted my confidence a little, which I am sure will iprove even more as I produce more content. I am generally a shy person with low confidence so this is helping a lot. It has also led me to meet and interact with new people, especially on here. And has given me the opportunity to collab on a great video that could inspire many people. SO so far so good and looking forward to the future :)

It definitely got me to be much more creative, and think about more and more ideas I can execute on video. Besides that, it hasn't really done much. I'm still super shy, and I haven't gained any money from it. It forced me to get more creative.
