I haven't found the solution but perhaps the solution found me.
I do not share my channel details.

second thing: Reddit?????
Have you ever tried to post on reddit???? First of all you need to comment thousand times before posting on relevant subreddits.
Second thing is that you cant spam and you have to wait 10 minutes before posting again

Ok i understand here we are talking about hobby and career.
There are 2 types of tubers.

Everybody use to type so many common strategies but talking with a general media expert (not only online) he said to me that the real marketing strategy that every business (every) uses is: ads. And you can do it in many ways such as online with Adwords and offline with events, ticket-cards, flyers, spreading the words, painting the streets, and more

Im asking in the forum what is the favourite strategy people use to do but nobody seems to take promotion seriously.

For me it's a hobby right now because I cannot find a way to make my channel grow, but the ultimate goal is to build something out of it. I know it takes time, I knew it before starting, but it still bothers me seeing people that put in a quarter of the effort I do and have 10 times more viewers.

Right Laura! I understand!
In the business marketing there are all the required strategies to grow on YT . (and having a great channel in today's world its a great succeful business)
In case of youtubers they use to say that their key is posting consistently... mmmh but i think thay have spent years in spamming on facebook and twitter, but this is not possible if you have to launch a new product such as a music video for example.
So as a marketing expert told me just speaking freely:
- ads
- outgoing promotion
- medias (radio, tv, papers) but later once the channel is already a bit big

Hi Gary, no worries about how YT engine works, because it works very well for every videos and channels. YT dont do any promotion. Just typing few generic words my videos appears in the main page... so its working. But this doesnt mean to have tons of viewers ready for you because in every business we have to go to customers.
Promotion comes from latin and it means "move to" you know i mean?
