Views are worth more then Subs

That's subjective though, if you're trying to build a community then comments are probably worth more.

I touched on this in my stripped down challenge. For me comments are the most important. I want to build a community and therefore engagement and interaction are what give me the best feedback.

I would honestly rather have a video with 10 comments (each comment being a mini discussion) on a 50 -100 view video than 10k views and no comments.

The problem with that is I know people can love or really enjoy your videos and not comment anything. For example i've received messages on Facebook randomly from friends I never knew watched my videos saying they love them or were inspired and have decided to do blah because of something I said. So imagine all of the people that you don't even know.

With this is mind I try to leave a valuable or funny reflection on videos I watch now to help others engagement and it also helps with your presence in the YouTube world.

Hey guys,

I see a lot of the upcoming youtubers focusing on trying to get subs...but I think they are missing the point...

The sub count does absolutely nothing but make the general look of your channel bigger, does absolutely nothing for view count in general or on specific videos, I would recommend looking up SEO optimisation. Back to my point a lot of them do sub4sub which is the BIGGEST mistake any youtuber can do. The last thing needed is to have for instance 3k subs and get 30 views...that doesn't work for anyone.

I have come across youtubers with 170 subs and 60k views and tbh id rather be in this guys shoes. First step is to get people watching, that's the number 1 priority.

I'm approaching 700 subs and tbh if you gave me the option between 700 subs and 70k views id take the views all day long!

Word of advice, please do not try make yourself out to be bigger then what you really are on youtube - be humble and respect other youtubers!

Rich

I know right. s**t is tough out here and these guys are making crazy videos with 100 subs but have views that go over 5K. I congratulate them XD

Never even thought of that bro!

Its soo easy to forget that alot of people dont have gmail accounts so they cant even comment if they wanted, hmm great comment bro btw!

Subs are very important. The YouTube Creator Academy says as much. Subscribers are most likely to watch your videos which is why they're important. Having said that you need organic subscribers. People who subscribe as they want to see more of your content. Sub4Subs will only deliver ghosts who will never look at your content, and that's pointless.

I think one builds with the other. For example, when my subs were low, my views were too (0-100 subs saw me getting 50-100 daily views). Now, as I approach 300 subs, my daily views are 1,000.

Yes I value views more than subscribers in terms of numbers, but the more subs you have, the more chance they have of watching 3-4 of your videos which equates to higher views.

So - I think it's unusual for them not to go hand in hand.

Great post!! You said you get 1K daily views on your channel, that is amazing because i get way way less(very very small amount of) daily views on my channel then you and i have 3.1K subscribers on Youtube.

So how do you get views? What's is your secret??? :)
I really need some help on getting lots of views on my Youtube channel.

Hi, a lot of it depends on how often do you publish new videos? I have 865 subscribers at the moment and regularly receive over a thousand views a day on my channel. For me, I use social media, my Facebook page, Twitter, and Google Plus to promote my videos. This works well for me. I also usually publish a new video on a weekly basis.

I remember reading on the creator academy (I think) that subscribers watch more than non-subscribers (far better viewer retention etc.), and retention is supposedly what boosts you in the algorithms :cat2:

For me, subs are more important because they engage more and I get to chat with them, get to know them, and get to check out their channels too! But I would never do "sub4sub" for numbers - I don't want people to subscribe to me if they don't like or want to watch me, and while I try to check everyone out if they comment or subscribe and I'll often sub back, if I don't enjoy their content I can't sub in all good consciousness (not a matter of talent, editing skills or anything, just interests and personal preference).

I do love my subscribers and I often end up with almost as many views as subs. Granted, I'm pretty small and pretty new, but I enjoy being at the level where I can chat to everyone.
