Views are worth more then Subs

To me, Subs are more important. Not just regular subs, but loyal subs. The kind of people who think about you and your channel daily and always make time to stop by and see what is new. THESE are the most valuable kinds of subs. They also leave views, comments and likes and often share their love of your channel with others aka FREE GROWTH. You get to know them on a more personal level. My channel has 2,380+ subs and 100,000+ Channel views. I've gotten views from non-subs but more often than not my views are becoming mostly dominated by subscribers. This, I love.

Think about it this way, if you own a shop, your regular customers are more valuable to you than people just passing through town. Its the regulars that keep you in business and help you know what to expect, everything else is just a bonus on top.

Ohh yes I have loyal subs, there the reason I continued making videos, I think at my stage and smaller (i.e under 1 k subs) the most important for us is views, views are the reason why people will sub, just getting people to check out one of my videos is slowly getting easier, but getting that right balance between views/subs/consistency engagement and encouragment is soo important. This sounds soo cheesy and I mean this but I care more about fellow upcoming Youtubers then my own growth, I make sure they know about yttalk and try and help as much as possible, it's such a learning curb making videos and the amount of effort that goes into them - all we ask is please just WATCH! Lol :)

Yeah I guess you need it for short term views or numbers so your channel will have good standing and that has good numbers on it.. Cause if you are just waiting then your video will always end up last while looking for a keyword on your video.. I always search b4 and gets disappointed that it can't even be featured.. Now I can see it as featured vids.. :)

That's subjective though, if you're trying to build a community then comments are probably worth more. If you're trying to money then you'd want more views than subs, depending on your channel, some rely on viral videos without having a large amount of subscribers. How I like to look at it for my own channel: comments ≥ retention > shares > subs > views > likes/dislikes. I get what you mean though.

exactly - i try to engage as much as possible, alot of my audience for reasons unknown to me dont realise that writing a comment is the best way to contact me - whether they liked the video or now. Now that i think about it its such a BETTER look for peope to feel as if they can talk to the youtuber in question. :)

I think one builds with the other. For example, when my subs were low, my views were too (0-100 subs saw me getting 50-100 daily views). Now, as I approach 300 subs, my daily views are 1,000.

Yes I value views more than subscribers in terms of numbers, but the more subs you have, the more chance they have of watching 3-4 of your videos which equates to higher views.

So - I think it's unusual for them not to go hand in hand.

You have just justified my view your on 300 subs (congratulations btw) but getting 1000k views a day which is waaaaay better! :)

Hey guys,

I see a lot of the upcoming youtubers focusing on trying to get subs...but I think they are missing the point...

The sub count does absolutely nothing but make the general look of your channel bigger, does absolutely nothing for view count in general or on specific videos, I would recommend looking up SEO optimisation. Back to my point a lot of them do sub4sub which is the BIGGEST mistake any youtuber can do. The last thing needed is to have for instance 3k subs and get 30 views...that doesn't work for anyone.

I have come across youtubers with 170 subs and 60k views and tbh id rather be in this guys shoes. First step is to get people watching, that's the number 1 priority.

I'm approaching 700 subs and tbh if you gave me the option between 700 subs and 70k views id take the views all day long!

Word of advice, please do not try make yourself out to be bigger then what you really are on youtube - be humble and respect other youtubers!

Some people lose their initial way when beginning YouTube, going from making videos to making videos for Money and from being active in your community but turning your nose up because you have a larger following. People like this need to wind their neck in, yeah you got a couple of hundred subs but you aint PewDiePie, sit down.

As far Views over Subs your correct on that front again. Views will be greater than sub count in opinion but many people fail to see this. Then they come here and complain about it....
