Tumblr Allegations Against YouTubers

Oh dear. I haven't read too thoroughly through the story but claiming 'dumb ******* who love to make false claims' are why many rapists get away and why it's so important to be educated on rape culture.

That's part of the problem ... there have been "dumb *******" who've made false claims (and they ultimately make it worse for the women who are real victims out there). Think of the Duke LaCrosse team and how they were completely devastated by false rape claims.

I think some real claims have been made against Alex Day. He himself has come forward and apologized for his actions and basically is not denying the allegations, but now other girls are hopping on the bandwagon and accusing a string of other YouTubers from Alex Day's YouTube circle of friends (both in the US and UK) and it's getting to the point where it seems phony. If as many YouTubers as are being accused (about 6-8 by my last count) are guilty of doing this for *years* ... how'd they get away with it for so long? Something just doesn't sit right with that.

Rape culture being what? Some imaginary society that thinks rape is cool? I see a bunch of tumblr crap like "He hug you without your permission? Dats rape" - all of that garbage is what devalues credibility for everyone.

I go along to a lot of the London meet ups, I see some of the youtubers around the 50k to 200k mark being very hands on with teenage girls whilst me and my mate just look at each other and say ' is this actually happening'

Edd plant himself admitted it and told everyone so that pretty much ended any argument for him.

What does surprise me is some names that haven't come up yet which I have seen getting off with teenage girls. Also the stories you over hear a lot of youtubers talk about when they think they are in trusted company makes even me a bit uncomfortable.

Since tumblr was kinda here first and had the videos but with a s****y player and youtube surpassed it, they are kinda butthurt about it.

It's like websites hating on 9fag, they stole their stuff but 9fag got ultra famous with the stolen content.

Edit: not implying youtube stole the video idea but that's how some of the tumblrs take it.

I think you misundersdtood this thread. These are allegations being posted on Tumblr *about* YouTubers ... inappropriate behavior. Perhaps even sexual abuse. Please read the thread before responding.
