Could you give us an example of how we should approach that situation in the future if we're lucky enough to recieve the opportunity?

I figure there's plenty of knowledgeable people on here who have probably done some back and forth with companies. Would you be willing to give an example (obviously doesn't have to be real) of how you would contact a company, and negotiate terms with them for a sponsorship or product?

If you're going to contact companies for brand/sponsorship deals, you're going to have to create a good pitch form. Provide view and engagement information of your analytics. Highlight statistics you feel can be beneficial for the company you're contacting. Brands love to see high view count first and foremost (average amount of views per video) but engagement is definitely crucial. If you have a high engagement, brands will think that people will talk about their brand in the video you will feature them. Make sure to mention your demographic as well, especially if it caters to the same demographic as the company you're contacting. Also have your costs ready. It doesn't have to be presented right away, but you want to be very firm with your asking price. Yes, you should negotiate if it comes down to it, but don't be afraid to ask high and definitely never settle for something you're not comfortable with. The point is to show your worth and let the company know that they will benefit from working with you.
