The 'I Got Partnered with RPM' Thread

Well alright! But I still don't get how people like Jesse Cox, Wowcrendor, Totalbiscuit and all those TGS people can always be safe from things like that... I guess companies trust them because they only help? But there are a lot of others who also monetize but are lower in viewer bases aswell... But now that I think about it I think Totalbiscuit mentioned that Sega copyright struck him once before? But then he yelled at them or something and they removed it, probably because he has a million subscribers and all that good stuff.

Still, how as an example, would I go about if a gaming company just struck my video with copyright? Just remove the video(s)? I mean what can I say to them? ''IT'S FAIR USE''...?
Actually one of the biggest guys in TGS got stroke recently ;)

lol, claiming fair use is going to get you no where 1) It hardly ever applies when it comes to gaming 2) If the company who owns the copyright claims it`s not fair use then it isn`t.

Wha? Really? Which one of them? And yeah, that's kind of the answer I expected :P

okay, so I need to get this off my chest after reading so much mixed feelings about the RPM Network:

My channel is recently partnered with RPM Network, under the new 2 year contract. and you know? I'm happy with it. Although people moan and complain about the money difference, I am proud to say that I'm not part of RPM for the money. I already have a good part time job to do that. I part of the RPM in hopes that it would help my channel grow.

I'm not saying that my channel will be a success overnight. I'm saying that I put a lot of work, and I mean WORK in to my videos, so people could enjoy them. I just wanted the opportunity to grow with my very first network, and after the two year contract, move on to a bigger & better network that I can work with. For now, money or no money, I have high hopes that I can make RPM work for me as my first partner network.

sorry if this turned in to a rant, but I felt I needed to get this out of my system.

Oh, and to answer your question: I am happy with the RPM Network so far :)

heey, I just joined RPM myself and had NOO idea about the two year lock down. But I like your views on the situation and maybe I should look at it in that way. It's my first Network as well.

congratulations :) that's great, I hope you are having a good experience with RPM so far.

It was just ******* me off people fighting over contract stipulations, 60/40 vs. 50/30 percent of funds, contract timeline, accepting small channels, just a lot of BS.

the funny part is it's the people who sign up for the 2 year contract who are complaining about it. If you didn't like the contract requirements, then why join?

I see now a days money is so important than creating great content on YouTube, which is disgusting to me.

I don't think it's mainly about the money that people complain about the contract. 2 years is a long time and what if you suddenly want to join a network where you know that there's a better support, community or other benefits like media to use for your videos?

And ontop of that it's never pleasant to know that you could be earning more than you do if you one day become like really big on Youtube and you want to make it your job although it is very rare or maybe you donate your youtube money to charity and it bothers you that you could have allowed more to be spent on charity. There's a lot of cases but as I said, it's about the benefits which makes you able to make better content.

But you are right, if you're in this for the money there is no way you're going to make it unless you become famous over a week or two. To keep making Youtube videos you need to have the will and passion for it, people will notice if you are trying to fake it.

your right, I do agree with your points. Support and benefits are very important when it comes to working with a network. You are also right, that people should be able to move to better opportunities if it presents itself.

From what I noticed, people are not thinking about donating to charity or anything like that if their channel becomes bigger. I noticed that people are arguing about how much money you get in a contract, and why are they signed with the RPM Network when they are well aware of the stipulations of the contract.

When I first said that I was partnered with RPM for 2 years, I was pretty happy. Saying it in a previous form? my confidence level went down, when people are telling me how "bad" RPM is, and I need to get out. I read the contract, I knew what I was getting myself in to, and I have no regrets at all. I'm happy where I am right now.

If people don't like RPM or their contract, then they should not have signed up in the first place. It's common sense.[DOUBLEPOST=1365437549,1365437487][/DOUBLEPOST]
Who cares about the money when you're just doing this for fun, joy and laughter :)?!

Exactly my point :D
