The 'I Got Partnered with RPM' Thread

They have 2 contracts as of now in RPM.

When you're averaging a less than hundred views per day, you'll get the new contract they have put in. Some said it's 50/50 and 2yrs lock-in and the 60/40, the old contract.
Confirmed thank you I knew I was right ;)

Yeah so many people do not realize that RPM has 2 contracts now. :O

"RPM accepts anyone now- but channels with less than 84 daily views will be offered a 2 year, 50%/50% contract. That contract is really bad. If you want, boost your views up to 84 views, then sign. I like RPM. I am partnered with their gaming sub-network. The thing is, RPM will probably be swamped in support with all the new partners." - From another one of my posts.
:)

I applied to RPM.... now they sent me an invite....? Is that the email I was waiting for? The weird part is where it says 'This should not be the first time you are hearing about this from RPMNetworks. If you feel that you have wrongfully received this invitation please dismiss this invitation.'

And it was sent by the Youtube Team... not RPM... confused...?[DOUBLEPOST=1366068188,1366066859][/DOUBLEPOST]Decided to join for the hell of it... now all my videos turned from Monetized to Claimed videos. Is that how it's supposed to go?

Oh you accepted? :P Yes. Now you have to "claim" your videos so they know that all the content belongs to you. RPM auto-claims your public videos everyday anyhow. :)

what about video game music...? I kinda thought the whole deal with getting networked was to be able to monetize gaming videos...?
Gaming music is fine. I am talking any music you add on, like in terms of intros or outros or whatever. Networks always claim that this is possible but honestly most networks can't prove that they have gaming licences because they are just too many game publishers out there and getting licences isn't that easy. Once you are with a network; it makes monetizing gaming videos a bit easier. Honestly, these days, making videos on gaming falls under "fair use." Having commentary over your gameplay is a good idea as well! :)

Alright, well, none of my videos have actual songs on them. The intros/outros are always gaming music related to the game in question (though I already learned from a past WWE review to avoid actual songs even if they are from a game). They should be under fair use since they are reviews, full of commentary, opinions and skits, it's not just the game playing by itself.

I'm confused how to make the banner work. It's annoying since it's not letting me post it. I also had a similar problem with the site background which I finally fixed by just cut-and-pasting the page. But I'm confused as to how I can claim my videos if they haven't sent me their package whatever or tax forms yet.

Yeah it's always good to avoid that. Apparently some games even technically do not allow some sounds to be put in your videos. -.- I am a bit blurry in that area so don't take my word for it. You need to create a background with a banner, then cutout the banner part to the best of your abilities, and then upload it to the image-mapper website. I can't post links here but I suggest looking up a recent tutorial. :)

Mhmm. I do not know if they have a new system. If you want, e-mail the support team. You will probably be able to start earning revenue from your videos though! :)
