That 'I want to give up' feeling.

I'm sure every Youtuber at some point has felt like they should just give up. I know it's a slow process, but it's getting the dislikes on your videos which really kicks you in the teeth. Do people not understand how much effort and time goes into these videos for them to be disliked? Personally, if I don't like a video, I just stop watching it, I don't go ahead and dislike it.
Anyway, the title says it all. I've just splashed out on an Elgato and I'm wondering if I made the right choice. I have a lot of support from other Youtubers who I have became close to, but then my family keep telling me to get a life, which is pretty hard to hear seeing as they don't understand how depressed and lonely I was before starting Youtube.
Is it normal to want to give up so easily? I just feel like I don't produce good quality videos. I'm still trying to find my comfort zone whilst playing games but my confidence bursts out in my vlogs. Maybe Youtube just isn't for me?

Yeah the dislikers are never nice nor motivating, but it shouldn't be a reason to stop. If you like making videos youtube is something for you, just keep in there :) some day your videos will get views and you will see all the work was not for nothing.

Continue to do what you do. If it makes you happy, I say do it! It also takes a while to improve. It took me a year to actually be comfortable talking to a camera. You'll get through it. It's every Youtubers hardship. "We're all in this together" - High School Musical.

I hope that I can be candid with you and tell you that if you are going to put yourself out for the internet to see, you need to prepare yourself for hate, dislikes and pervert stalkers. Nothing in life comes without a pinch and it makes it all the more interesting. With each dislike and hate, you grow stronger and more determined to bring out content in higher quality and credibility. Again as I always say, never let another person who does not have balls to put up a video on Youtube determine your worth as a person much less a content creator. They really are not worth your time and worries. Instead, concentrate on likes and supporters. Haters gonna hate..but the choice is up to you to use it against you or use it as a tool to improve and kick some serious a**. i would definitely choose a** kicking

Drink an energy drink and listen to fast upbeat music to get in the mood for a video, also tell your parents that its your choice and your hobby and that you're going to carry on so they might aswell give positive feedback :)

Balancing life and youtube can be difficult! When you get that feeling slow down and take a breath of fresh air! Go for ahike or a walf go do somthing other than youtube! If youtube is the only thing in yournlife it will hurt when your not growing every second.. treat youtube like a hobby not a lifestyle

I do enjoy making videos but at the same time I feel like I have to please people all the time. I can spend a good hour or so messing about trying to improve videos, which I could have spent that time exercising or helping around the house.

I guess I will just have to keep practising, maybe if I use a facecam for my gaming that I'll feel more comfortable :)
