Subscribe annotation?

Hey there guys,
Looking for honest feedback, early on I was told to ditch my annotation to subscribe in my outro video because it was 'tacky' according to one person. Since then I was busy creating videos, up-loading, and chasing small children around the house. So I haven't given it much thought, until now.

Do you find a that an annotation to subscribe creates a substantial increase in subscribers?
Do you like to see prompts to subscribe?

This would really help because as I mentioned I only ever had one person comment and I would appreciate a more well-rounded opinion from a larger sample group.

Thank you in advance, every person's opinion matters! That is the idea behind YouTube is it not? Something for everyone? I also apologize if there is a poll for this idea already, I did a search and did not find anything. I like the poll system its a nice easy quick reference.

Mentioning it in the videos also helps, but they are your videos and as long as they are not too big I don't see the problem. But always follow your followers feedback if it is a big group suggesting the same things.

My personal taste is adding it to the endcard of every video. I also put a visual reminder to like and comment as well in there, mainly because I know I will never actually say 'make sure to like, comment, and subscribe!' which sounds even more tacky imo. All comes down to personal taste though like Ewan said, it's your videos.

I think either or is fine honestly! I try to say it verbally but sometimes I naturally just forget to record it, and if I do annotations is still great.
