Especially if you're famous, that's when jealousy truly plays a role. To say people are jealous when you have nothing is silly and probably arrogant. In reality the jealous haters come when you accomplish something worthy of their jealousy, and before that it's misunderstandings or the simple fact that the hater is a hateFUL person who hates you. Just like how in highschool some people hate you, they do on youtube too. They're hateful people and you rub them the wrong way for whatever reason.

This would go for people who have exceptional talent and are growing. If you're just another minecraft player or you just don't stand out, it's probably a simple matter of childish "I'll hurt you to distract from my own hurt" kind of crap. But yes if you are exceptionally talented some may see your potential and be jealous. It can happen.
