Somebody stole my "viral" video but I want to make claim, not remove

I don't know what you don't understand.

Clearly enough, if you upload a video of Obama punching a guy and you earned 6million views for $600 and someone downloaded it and re-uploaded it and earn 6k views for $60, I don't think that's even stealing because you're earning money from your video and he's earning his different money from his video.

I can't decide if you're trolling or not.

Of course it's stealing. He's found someone else's video that is popular, downloaded it from someone else's channel, uploaded to his own and started monetizing it. The fact that he's earning less than the owner of the video is irrelevant lol.

Let's give you another example regarding something you have created. You sell graphics here on YTtalk ( http://yttalk.com/threads/really-cheap-gfx-intro-and-outro-designs.128942/ ) How about someone downloads your logos and then sells them on pretending they're his own? Is that stealing? Are you happy about that? What about if he sells them a bit cheaper than you? Is that still stealing?

@carlylespicks - I'll move this to the monetization forum where hopefully you'll get some advice. If you're in a network, they should be able to help with this too.

Alright, I'll interpret the question the best I can. Someone stole your original video, that went viral (which is irrelevant). You would like to claim this video (& monetize it), but not take it down.

The copyright report form is for taking videos down, not claiming them - the only way to claim a stolen video is by being enrolled in the ContentID program. You may ask your network (if you are part of one) to set this up for you, but I doubt that they will do such a thing unless you upload regular content that is susceptible of being stolen (eg. songs, animations, ...).

That's about it, good luck!

I like your style, don't take down the video but claim it as your own to show them. xD
But Crown nailed it, you kind of need to be part of a network to get help with placing claims on content you own. Otherwise if you want you can report the video, if they're with AdSense they need to earn $100 or more to get paid the money and I think the money is paid monthly, if with a network it's different. Either way, reporting the video as quickly as possible increases the chances of denying them money.

It's not like he's going to earn $600 or more from just 6k views unlike you with 6million views.

A viral video is a single video like Psy- Gentleman, other's downloaded it and re-uploaded it but that isn't viral as the original one.

But it's not his video to begin with lol you basically defined what stealing was then contradicted it. Maybe I can steal cars from a dealership and just tell the court that I'm earning my different money from the dealership so it's okay. xD

As of now I don't think he can do anything other than report it to youtube though.
Why not?

As i remember someone who was partnered with Fullscreen was saying he was getting the money that way (from people that stole his video(s) and reuploaded to their channels) - he seen it in Fullscreen dashboard stats somewhere, also i think Fullscreen officially offers that option for their partners, the app is called:

"Content Protection - make sure you get paid for stolen copies of your videos on YouTube"

...most likely some other Networks offers this option too...

that is if he's partnered to a network, he never said, if he was then he should've talked to them in the first place

He still can partner network (if not yet partnered) and start earn money from his stolen videos which were reuploaded on other channels (if he decides this reason is worth partnering)

Exactly my point, the people think I'm some stupid guy but the truth is, this has just been all a misunderstanding.
Ever since the start, we stated that why can't he just Report the said "re-uploaded" video on youtube and even contact his network (if he hasn't one then join one).
