Smosh Indiegogo campaign ???

ApexxWolf

I make Cartoons and Animations :)
So smosh have set up an indiegogo campaign to make an iphone game.

Not sure what to feel about this, sure its a way of giving to the fans (sort of), but the cap they're asking for is 1/4 of a million US dollars :O I thought they were making 6-7 figure salaries a year?

What you guys think?

I think that they would already have the money to make the game. I am excited to see this game come out but I don't think i'm a big enough fan to donate, although I feel they will raise enough anyway. They have like $15k already raised!

I know its crazy :/

I think campaigns like this are designed for people who can't afford to fund projects by any other means, Smosh don't really fall in that category but on the other hand, I do want to see this game come out. So I'm unsure :P

They do not have enough money. If it's going to take $250,000 that would mean they would have to live on nothing and have an extremely good year on YouTube. They don't make anywhere close to what you think. And what they make is split. It's not a salaried position.[DOUBLEPOST=1374539041,1374539021][/DOUBLEPOST]

True, they don't have a set base salary but all the accumulative income from Youtube, their website, brand deals, product placement etc, i think they make more than you think ;) obviously none of us have a clue what they actually get.

I doubt their website makes money. Most don't in all honesty. But YouTube income is not very much.
