Skippable vs. Non-skippable ads: which to use?

I have disabled Non skippable ads on all of my 150 videos, looking forward to the results :3. I will post the outcome here after 1-2 weeks of testing :). Averaging over 120k views per month so it should be objective.

That should be pretty good. Hey, where's the setting to change all the monetization settings at once like that? I can only find options to toggle on/off for skippable & unskippable in each individual video's monetization settings.

Let us know how it goes :D

Just go to your video manager, select all videos on that page using the topmost checkmark, then there should pop up text with option to select all your videos. Then go to actions, more actions, adformats and edit it however you like :).

Ah, nice nice!
Do you also use Postroll & Midroll adds? I've added midrolls to my longer videos & postrolls on a bunch too. What do you think of those options?

I'm using Midrolls and Postroll ads, midrolls only once per 10-15 minutes thought. And since most of my videos are arond 1-2 minutes long, I dont have so many Midroll ads. But honestly I think that the Postrolls are the least annoying ads on youtube - People will get to my end slate where they can click on one of my suggested videos, and if they wont click on one of them, then is ad shown to them. Win-win situation for me in terms of Audience retention :).

Most of my videos are guides for making gold in game, so most people leave once the "farming spot" is revealed. Which basically means that my most popular videos (gold guides) have an audience retention rate of 30-50% of the video length, meaning post rolls don't get viewed much.
It sucks, but nobody needs ALL the details I provide in my videos. They just want to know how much they can earn & where then they bounce.

I feel your pain! But honestly even that your postrolls dont get that much exposure, its still better to have them there as it really is the least viewer experience ruining advertisment!

You should try to keep the "sweet spot" information as long as possible and reveal it further in the video. Better audience retention, better ranking, more views, more subscribers, more profit.

I don't want to anger my viewers so I am hesitant to use non-skippable ads (also called "Standard In-Stream Ads"). On the other hand, I don't know how much serious money I'm leaving on the table by not choosing this option.

Post-rolls were mentioned. I have never enabled that option and have no intention of ever doing so.

I would enable all other options and let Google/YouTube decide what to present.

If you have an audience that appreciates your content, they will tolerate the ads.

In the beginning, I intentionally did not monetize some videos because I wanted to build my subs and views.

I am usually open about my earnings but since this info is about a specific ad category, I will be general in my representations. From Standard Reserved In-stream, from just the last 180 days, I could buy a Volvo S60. From Tru-View, I could buy four.

What would the comparison be if you were to assign a ratio to even out the number of monetized instances of them? (ie. CPM in theory should be higher on standard instream, but of course fewer of those will display as they are more expensive to the advertiser.)
