Should Your Face Be Used As Profile Picture? Benifits?

Hello everyone! I haven't really thought of this much, it's about whether having your face on your channel's profile picture. I only have my channels initials, but after seeing others in the same field have themselves as their profile picture, I thought twice about it.

I have never ever considered having anything else as a profile picture, people like to see the face behind the voice or just a picture of you

It depends on how attractive you are...which is why I don't have it as mine

YouTube's greatest strength is that you can create a connection with you and your audience, why would you want to use a brand or logo to then make it harder for you to do that ?

I like people who have a nice picture of themself instead of some letter etc.
It feels more personally etc

It doesn't really have any benefits I think. As long as you show your face in the videos sometimes with a facecam.

Perhaps it could create a sense of...closeness with your subs? If that's even a word, or THE word.
