Should I Be Sad About Dislikes?

So i just my first few dislikes, and they are really bothering me. Is this normal or am i just paranoid about dislikes?

Dont bother wasting much time thinking about them, constructive comments are the only thing i really take time to focus on but i also know im going to get hate on every video i put out so maybe im just more prepared for it. Not every one will like your videos, thats pretty much impossible

Every video will get at least 1 dislike at one point or another, don't worry. If it's bothering you so much, turn off ratings :P

It's normal to be worried at first. And for some it takes time before you get used to it. But take it from someone who's gotten tons and tons of them, almost 100 on one video, it doesn't matter. If you were entertaining in a comedy troup touring the globe, or if you were on television, or if you were in a band, you wouldn't ever see the haters, cause they wouldn't come to your show. A hater would just leave and then tell their friends what a crap performer you were. But on youtube, the world is your audience, and your haters have the luxury of being anonymous and not having to say outloud what they're thinking.

So just remember man, there isn't a performer on this earth who is enjoyed by all. Every famous person on planet earth has a large group of people who hate what they do. They just don't pay attention to those people cause they aren't their fans or their audience. Youtube just makes it easier for them to drop by and tell you what they thought, rather than real life performance mediums.

No such thing as bad publicity my friend. I've honestly never seen a video with more dislikes than likes, so it's good to know that 99% of dislikers are either trolls or just doing it to wind you up, whereas 100% of people who 'like' a video do so because... well, they actually like it!

You've never seen a video with more dislikes than likes? May I offer exhibit A) My video "Tutorial, how to switch to uploads only" That video was hit by a tsunami of hate hahahahahahaha And let's not kid ourselves here, some people make horrible content. It may be just terribly awkward, it may be like they put no thought into at all, and good normal people might dislike that video. They might even come in the comments and be like "what was the point of this" or "I think you should try something different this isn't your thing" And they literally mean what they're saying. They think you're embarrassing yourself and they are telling you.

However, the way to know whether or not it's that, or just "trolls", is by the way they comment, and by the ratio. If you are getting almost no likes, all dislikes, and the comments aren't JUST cruel, they're people saying things like "Yeeeeah... I see what you were trying to do and it was a nice try but just... no man.. no" Things like that? You may need to rethink your content.

But if you're getting good mixed with bad and the ratio is more likes than dislikes, then don't worry about the haters, they're just not your market. And lastly, if a video suddenly jumps in views and then tons and tons of nasty people flood in out of nowhere saying nothing productive but just "kill yourself!!!" and stuff? Don't fret. You've been put on 4 chan or the cringe section of reddit or some place where trolls gather just to hate on people.

So keep these things in mind. Hate doesn't ALWAYS mean there's trolls on the other end of this, you gotta look at the evidence and decide if it's you or them.

Don't worry about them at all. We have a guy who comes and leaves wonderfully ncie comments, but then as his comment appears there is a magical dislike. It is the craziest thing. We call him our thumbs down gnome. He is so cute.

Maybe it's Tom Tuckers son and hes having a problem seing whats up and down?
