If you'd like to say something then do it. But reaction gifs are kind of the best way to add something completely meaningless to a conversation. Give me a reason to state that I'm wrong.

This is a quality thread. 10/10 would read again. :3

As for the whole comment deal, I probably would have sensed it was sarcasm after reading it. What would have clued me in would be the overuse of the exclamation points. I'm sure someone being legit would come off more... I guess I could say sincere, but hey.

Not that this thread is even about the comment at this point. *shrugs*

@Acidicfriend Also I pointed out jazz is a form of taking what has come before and applying your own artistic style to it. Without properly learning and applying what has come before some would argue what you're creating is gibberish. (see previous post for more emphasis)

In the most simplistic example the transition into baroque music was characterized by the bending of the standards set forth by church music. Using more 'radical' minor key changes and having music follow the words (word painting) as opposed to straight music where the lyrics were more easily understood rather than being felt/expressed/illustrated.

Bringing this back I'm not saying that letsplays/montages are at the peak of creative endeavors. Instead I'm saying that 'copying,' what other people doesn't make it exactly the same. The fact I created it already makes it different. It may not be ground breaking, but it is different.

Your musical creations may be original, but without considering what is a 'pleasant,' sound how could you hope to make music that you and others would enjoy. Where does your idea of 'pleasant' sounds come from? It comes from your experience and what you have heard before (look up avant garde jazz some argue it's just nonsense while others say it's beautiful artistic expression). I'll qualify and say that what you do is at a more creative caliber, but don't say I'm copying pewdiepie etc and not trying to be different. I can attempt to emulate their success, but I will never be them.

Oh I'm sure you'll be successful if you continue. But you need to expand your editing styles.
sorry I would say something long and complex but I have to go to school now!

I'm just discussing imitation and originality and how they actually go hand in hand
Yeah school sucks I was busy on this thread during my BioChem lol.

Conclusion:
Imitating ≠ same (except for copy and paste that sh!ts exact)
Originality ≠ rejection of the past

I'm not rejecting the past.
Everything comes from something. We don't compare Katy Perry's music to daft punks music though I'm sure a few of their songs have similar composition.
