Recently I got a sarcastic comment about how "good" my video was. Since it was the interwebs I wasn't sure how to interpret it (maybe it was bad english or I was thinking too much), but I went with the safe bet taking the hit by assuming it was genuine. In the end it wasn't and they made that clear, but I still thanked them for the view and made a joke of it.

I'm fine with criticism, but why make it sarcastic. It's more like they're taking a swing at you rather than helping. Especially on a small channel are they trying to make themselves appear superior?

*rolls eyes* that's what I have to say about that.

Plus they had actual channel of 200 or so subs. Not a good way to promote yourself if you ask me =/

No way they had my best intentions in mind I was over reacting

knew you looked familiar
I made the effort to add that beautiful effect on my comment! take it as constructive criticism. You cannot just copy the same commentator cliche of face-cam-captioning-horror games let's player. become your own thing and strive away from what is already made.

I understand that point, but you could apply that reasoning to almost everything else. One could say someone is copying someone else. You could also argue that each one is different in some way.

Not saying I should mindlessly copy others. I could say the same thing about your music mixes and various gameplay videos.

I do not do gameplay videos anymore. and all of my music is made by me so how could it be considered unoriginal? It has no EDM tropes.

You are copying incredibly large youtube commentators. You do this to attempt to produce what they produce. If this weren't true, you wouldn't be captioning everything you say in the attempt of making it funny like pewdiepie, you wouldn't be playing s****y horror games like markiplier, you'd be playing things you find fun!

I think is problem. People don't realize when posting a status, tweet or comment online. People use sarcasm and different tone of voice all the time in real life. It is not what you say, it is how you say it. Unfortunately on the internet, you can't exactly change your tone of voice and so people can interpret their own meanings. Now people are being accused of being rude, racist, mean and more, simply because people gave their comment a different meaning then they intended.

the secret is stating things as obviously as you can.

The idea of putting out music on youtube has been done. The medium is the same, but the product is different.

I'll say that the games are not always 100% fun to play, but I do have fun actually making the video. I feel that everything has already been done. Maybe I'm just not creative enough to come up with something that is genuinely 'new.'[DOUBLEPOST=1410186369,1410186311][/DOUBLEPOST]
