pewdiepie is now number 1 most subbed, thoughts?

I think he deserves it, He's done a lot for charity as well whereas smosh has asked their fans for $250,000 to create a iphone game. Smosh does it for money whereas pewdie does it for fun.
"Your extra views get me extra cash!" is a quote from PewDiePie last year. It's fair to say PewDiePie is doing the charity thing because he gets so much money already, even if he has good intentions as well. There's no denying that Smosh is selfish, if they wanted to make an iPhone game, they could've paid for it out of pocket, no doubt.

Pewdiepie invests a lot in his channel as well as going to conventions to meet fans. Smosh are just 2 idiots that want more and more money from their mostly young and gullible fan base. This game they will most likely make you have to pay to play it as well.

PewDiePie makes way more money than Smosh does, and he donated like $10,000 or something to charity when he makes that in two days or less. Either way, who says making videos for money is a bad thing? Ian and Anthony clearly enjoy making videos, otherwise they would have run out of ideas long ago.[DOUBLEPOST=1377126983,1377126761][/DOUBLEPOST]

What does he invest into his channel? PewDiePie needs a headset, capture card, camera, and that's almost it. A lot of the games he plays are free, not that a $60 game matters to him for his several thousand dollar income days every day. He's the guy making kids think they're important for being in the "BRO ARMY!!11!!", so he's no better than Smosh in that regard.

So far $208,762 has been raised, Twitch is donating $5,000, He is donating a dollar for every 500 views that his video announcing the campaign gets up to until $10,000 (Or so I believe) and Polaris will be matching every dollar that he donates.

Making money FROM youtube is not a bad thing but Smosh has just gotten to the point where they are IN it for the money.

Invests what? Time? Other than that, Smosh actually have to pay people - camera/boom operators, set designers, managers, etc. Smosh have been famous since nearly day one, so they have been doing all of the above for years. Toby Turner did the exact same thing as Smosh, yet I've heard no complaints out of anybody. I'm a fanboy of nobody, but Smosh does more than PewDiePie - Anthony does a channel with his fiance/wife, IanH, ShutUpCartoons, the main channel which must take a lot of effort, and their own gaming channel. Playing a game for 20 minutes while recording yourself talking isn't ballbreaking labor.

Oculus Rift, Hes gotten A LOT of publicity for them. He plays a lot of indie games and if you were to add up all the costs of the games that hes played on his channel it would be A LOT. He also invests in ways that you don't always see and thats him going around the world to conventions and meeting his fans.[DOUBLEPOST=1377127234,1377127199][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah, I'm sure him paying for a week long vacation to Los Angeles to go to a convention one of those afternoons was a real drain on his wallet, he probably paid for it all after one day of YouTube.

Even so, He helps a lot of indie games but playing them and getting them more well known, and he makes hes fans happy by meeting and talking to them. He cares about his fans were as I have never seen smosh go out of their way to talk to a fan.

He cares about his fans? Please come back down to earth. He cares for the money, and publicity with "fans" gets him even more of that so why not "Care for the fans".

He does care for his fans, He's gone out of his way to talk to my friend on several occasions. You think Smosh are any better? They give a lot less care to their fans.
