I'm still deciding how I feel about it, but I thought I'd go ahead and post this to open up a discussion for anyone who has an opinion on the matter.

-Do you think you would ever turn off comments on your channel?
-If a YouTuber whose videos your enjoy commenting on removed the option to do so, how would you feel?
 
I don't see myself ever switching them off, but I could see why he would.

I assume he gets hundreds if not thousands of comments on each of his videos, and if he's trying to keep it all civil, that would be one hell of a job moderating them all.

Communicating with people in the comments is important to me as both a viewer and channel owner so I would never turn them off. Being apart of a Community is apart of why I like the comment section and being active there, both reading and replying. Community is half the reason I'm active here on YTTALK. As far as someone who I watch turn off their comments, I guess I'd be disappointed :/
 
I can see why he does it though so much spam and hate goes in them but without comments it feels umm lonley I guess. Idk
 
It is ridiculous how fans argue in the comments and I may not watch Pewdiepie videos that often but having so many fans must cause quite a stir in the comments. I follow NerdCubed and sometimes it bothers me I can't comment but I got over it :)
 
I can understand why he did it but I would never do it myself. I absolutely HATE when comments are turned off, if there's something I want to comment on let me comment it -.- don't shut out the fanbase that doesn't use twitter or your own personal site. Nerdcubed took his comments away along time ago which I can understand why, he did it when they were letting so many virus links into the comment section, but I really wish he would bring it back. I don't want to have to go to a different site to comment when I'm on a page that should be letting me hold a discussion there.
 
Comments are love, comments are life. Yeah, as everyone above me said, I kinda understand why he did it, but I would never do that. Comments make my day, they give me feedback, etc.
 
Depending on the subject manner/the amount of spam, I could definitely see it happening. I wouldn't ever do it for all my videos, but if I was talking about a really sensitive topic, I could see turning them off for that one video. I really wish YouTube would do something about comments, especially from anonymous weirdos.

ino its suckkkkkkksssss :( i dont think il ever turn comments of tbh.
 
I hate when comments are turned off lol.....but....it's his channel, and it must be hard to keep up with all of that. He must get thousands upon thousands of comments every day. Most of what he was seeing, he obviously wasn't happy with. I wonder if he lost subs over it? He probably did. I'm way to lazy to look that up. But, his die hard fans will probably stay anyway. I probably personally wouldn't turn the comments off, but then again, I don't even know what it's like to get past 30 comments on a video in a week :P So I can't imagine going through ALL of his, every single day.
