People Looking Down On YouTubers

In this week's Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, Jerry had Kathleen Madigan and another comedian, Chuck Martin. While he may have been telling a joke, he is still condescending towards YouTubers.

That guy, Chuck Martin, said that "YouTube stars" are like "p*rn stars".

What's funny is this looks like a video a high end channel could pump out... the begining reminded me of some Youtube Car reviewers videos I've seen, and the car cam reminds me of car Vloggers, haha.... It's just aired somewhere else than Youtube.... A decent video is a decent video, Youtube or not, haha

I think a lot of it comes down to jelousy. These big brands and markets look at themselves as 'old-school' they were 'built up from nothing' they look at YouTube and the internet as less suprerior, thinkijg YouTubers don't work - they just sit in there room and the internet does everything for them. Which isn't true. YouTube does make 'building an empire' look easy, but, in reality it isn't easy.

Were in the modern era and everyone and everything that critizises YouTubers and other forms of social media jobs arn't use to the idea - they also see it as a threat.

Overall, its just jelousy in my opinion ☺

It's simple jealousy. It bothers people to think that someone is making a better living than they are just by playing video games (for example) and talking about it. They're slaving away in a 9 to 5 and making less money than some of the successful ones and it rubs them the wrong way. It's to be expected.

Anyone who says doing YouTube isn't a real job might as well say doing anything else isn't a real job. I record, edit, socially network, go to cons and gaming events, make graphics, etc. So it's like doing bits and pieces of 'Normal Jobs' like Talk Show Host, TV personality, Game Critic, Editor, Graphic Design, Social Media Manager.......it is as much work as any of those other jobs.
