Offering my most unbiased, constructive feedback for YOUR channel

That would be very much appreciated buddy :)

@DrockinVlogs

Howdy fellow Canadian! First off, your bio was too awesome. "My igloo survives off maple syrup and wood chips from hockey sticks" lmfao.

In terms of what I love about your channel, the uniform content style (comedy rant/vlog style) with a one off gameplay or challenge makes it easy to figure out what your channel is about. Your thumbnails serve as a reinforcement of this style, love the simplicity in them. Your channel icon is great as it represents your entire channel. Content wise, your visual production as well as creativity are incredible for having such few videos (love the animations such as in your Donald Trump video). Video duration time is on point. The enthusiasm you show is another plus as I find your genuine personality stands out. Finally, you are a true Canadian and I appreciate that very much.

As for improvements, the banner is super informative, gets to the point, but may be too busy. These days, minimal is best. A lot of creators are using solid colours and/or less words (the logo on the right is not needed as your title already states your channel name). The banner is like a quick title, keep that in mind.
I too struggle(d) with these issues, namely production quality. In terms of audio, your Donald Trump video had a fan type noise in the background while your reactor video had a hissing noise on the S's like "SO" which was sharp in my ear. You need a pop filter for this issue. I see you are using a snowball microphone, which of course is an awesome mic. The only issue is that snowball mics are better used for gamers, and even then, the quality can be a bit off if not edited properly. If you are planning on doing vlog style videos, I would invest in a shotgun mic when you have the funds. For now, try editing your audio in audacity (you might already be doing this, but try tweaking the audio levels a bit more to improve quality).
Visually, I really like where you are positioned in the donald trump video (not too close up to the camera, but also crisp visual quality). The same quality can be seen in "What's in my bowling bag", but then you have videos like "Invisible Super Powers" and "Pokemon movies in real life" which aren't as clear quality (could be a lighting issue). Point is, try to keep consistent lighting to enhance visual quality. Also, those same videos, and the new Jelly Bean challenge, while awesome content, you are very close up to the camera (this should only be used for very emotional talks). You may want to be a bit further back, and also have the camera centred to you, or looking down as opposed to looking up at you (all about camera angles). Other than that, keep in mind, if you are doing more gaming/challenges in the future, be sure to put them into playlists so not to confuse viewers.

Overall, your channel has a CRAP ton of potential, I see great efforts made already and you definitely are trying new things and always aiming to improve upon each video which I truly appreciate. We are all in the same boat right now, as I am always trying to improve my own production quality/content quality, so I wish you nothing but the best and can't wait to see what more you can offer the world. Good luck dude.[DOUBLEPOST=1459532031,1459528728][/DOUBLEPOST]
I'd love to hear feedback, thanks man!
@Jordan Rhodes

Whoa, whoa, WHOA! Visual Production + Special Effects + Thumbnail Quality + Uniform Blue Banner/Icon = Outstanding! Caught my eye really quickly, and I am blown away by the fact that you started out 3 years ago with such awesome quality, and still continue to improve upon it. Channel trailer is on point, summarizes things well. Also love the organization (Sketches, Challenges- boom done). Music and sound effect choices are great. So is that Michael Jackson impression (good job man!)

As for improvements, three things stand out:
The first is audio quality. Although your levels are balanced, and there is no clipping at any point, there are points in your videos where I hear that hiss/fan noise such as in "TOASTED" right off the bat, at 0:46 in "SLEEPWALKING" and and even in the background of others. I mentioned before, some of my challenge videos suffer from the same issue while my gaming ones don't. I've figured out that with camera + shotgun mics, you have to actually lower the volume on the camera audio settings and then this should get rid of hissing altogether. If not, in addition, you just add DeNoiser in adobe premiere (or the equivalent for other editing softwares) in order to eliminate that issue.
The second and third are very minor details:
2) Consistency. If you are looking to make it big on YouTube, you definitely want to make videos more consistently. In the span of 3 years, you have 19 videos. People will definitely LOVE your content, but when you disappear for a week+, they will forget about you. With production quality and content quality like yours, you will definitely stay in their heads if they see you put stuff out more often (this way you will also improve quickly at the same time). I feel as though the more you guys do, the quicker you will blow up. Keep in mind, I understand how much time goes into editing high quality renders such as yours, but you can definitely fill in the time sometimes with shorter vids/more challenges/vlogs sometimes. OR, alternatively, have you guys considered putting some time into making a short film? Again, with production value like that, you could definitely go viral with a well put together short film.
3) Banner+About Me: The banner itself is great and stands out. The Sketches Challenges and more at the bottom do not though. Try making the font bigger because right now many people will overlook it, or not be able to read it. Also, the about me should reinforce your channel's mission statement in a sentence or two just in case people want to know more about it before watching.

Other than that, you guys are definitely onto something. With high quality productions, creative ideas and a strong understanding of presentation, you are well on your way. Good luck with everything!

So nice ><
i would love a feedback :D
thank you for the time
@Jehoshaphat Christian Ray

Your positive, enthusiastic personality is awesome! Love how into the games you get, how passionate you are about your channel and I admire how you try to incorporate English/English subs into your videos even though it is not your native language. Your thumbnails are very gamer like which is wonderful bc you add text, episode numbers and perfect stills of your facial reactions. I also love your game choices (naked granpda, cat mario, egg returns home lmfao!) Even your positioning of everything in videos like clash royale is great (face cam on right, game in middle + overlays). You are also very consistent with videos and are definitely improving each time and finding yourself.

That being said, things to consider are:
1) Video duration: I know as a gamer, we have tons of footage and want to include all of it in there (trust me I know!) But since you are starting out, try to keep your gaming playthrough videos under 10 minutes until you gain more audience engagement (you had a 19 minute video, 13, 14, 14). I made this mistake on my first gaming vid I put it at 14 minutes and people were saying it was too long. For me, this is why I started doing gameplays that were one time gameplays which range from 3-10 minutes to keep the audiences attention. For playthroughs, I only do 10+ minute gameplays if it's my Game Talk Chill series which is more like a podcast than a gameplay. Once your audience learns more about you, trusts you and sees your style, then you can do longer videos as they will watch the whole thing.
2) Playthrough consistency: I see you are doing about 4 playthroughs right now (Cat Mario, Nox Timore, Egg Returns Home and House of Jump Scares). Given attention spans of the YouTube audience, you should keep it to 1-2 games at a time, and try to finish those first. If you play multiple games at once, it will confuse people, and you will not get as much engagement. Also, you will be splitting your focus, which may cause you to not be as into the game because you are going back and forth.
3) As with most others including myself, audio quality is a concern. In your Clash Royale video, your voice is loud and unclear at times. The EQ can be tweaked to make you sound clearer and try to lower the audio volume in post to make your voice softer.
4) Try adding more lighting in production/light in post production to minimize shadows.

That being said, your personality is exactly what YouTube needs. You are genuine, fun to watch and passionate about games. I see you going very far as time goes on and once you figure out your gameplay style. I wish you the best of luck Kevin!!

hit up my channel please, id appreciate it! its jsut another generic gaming one, but maybe you could help me :)

Sure, let me know what you think.
@Johnny_Seagull

Dude, your content is as eccentric as it gets... and it's BRILLIANT! Your channel trailer, icon, banner and about me reinforce the strange and amazing style 1000% so no complaints at all there. In 2 years, you have put out so much creative content and organized them into different series, that I don't see people ever getting bored. What's more, your work is so diverse and can be so out of the norm, that it will keep people coming back (that sausi in my pants) song was incredible. You have that "I need to share this with my friends" quality to your videos, which is the formula for a viral video. You guys have also improved a crap ton in 2 years video quality wise which is a huge plus.

In the same breath, things to note are:
1) In the new videos, since you film outdoors a lot, especially the LARPing one, you can hear the wind interfering with the sound at times. Do you have a windscreen by any chance? Alternatively, if you have a shotgun mic and a Zoom H1 (or similar), you can search YouTube and see how to make a DIY boom mic. It really works for sketches! Also, when the cameraperson adjusts the lens, you can definitely hear the lens moving. This can also be fixed with the shotgun/boom mic DIY fix. Essentially, your video quality has improved so much, tweaking the audio will do wonders for your productions.
2) If you want to go big on YouTube, as much as I do love your diversity, YouTubers may be a bit confused as to what you guys are trying to achieve. Yes it says "weird/ off kilter sketches every monday", but while some of your subs may love your music videos, others may love your Reviews or other series more. Because of this, your channel style fits that of Rooster Teeth. Having a schedule and putting out a balance of each series you have will give the audience an understanding of your pattern, and will be able to anticipate what is coming out/when. Again, you guys have such hilarious, such awesome content, but it may seem all over to place to people right now. Stabilizing the content will make the channel even more appealing/predictable to people.

Other than that, I see you guys doing really well if you keep it up because trust me when I say I am definitely sharing some of your vids with my friends later- they are so random they're hilarious. Good luck to you guys, hope I helped a bit![DOUBLEPOST=1459538717,1459535297][/DOUBLEPOST]
Hey, I was wondering if you could review my channel!
https://www.youtube.com/user/MegaCaza1
@Caleb "Caza" Wright

Hey Caleb, I really like the straightforward approach that you're doing.

However, I have quite a few ideas that can help you grow.

1) The quickest way to divert people's attention is to put in the about : I do a bit of everything. Many people on YouTube do many different things. But the problem is, the audience won't be able to fit you to a niche market and thus won't be able to differentiate you from everyone else. I want to know who MegaCaza is. I see you love to draw (nice drawings btw!) and also love gameplay. If you want to focus on those two, I say make a playlist for each and be consistent with those two things. That way, people will say "oh Mega Caza is the YouTuber who plays games but draws amazingly too!"

2) Take Subscriptions, Saved and Liked videos out of your main page so that it gets rid of clutter, and showcases your videos themselves.

3) Your older videos show gaming filmed from the television set while the newer ones are video captured. I would definitely private/delete the older videos so that it shows quality consistency.

4) I am not sure if you want to continue doing videos without commentary, which is fine because MK Fire and Ice does no commentary. But I suggest you write in the title (No Commentary). This will attract more people.

5) Audio in the Halo dialogue is not very easy to hear. I love the idea of using funny dialogue, just ensure it is louder than gameplay.

Basically, I love that you want to showcase your diverse interests, and you definitely can do this. Just ensure you have even a fraction of a plan as to how you want to do it. Once you have that, keep consistent and create that online personality so that people grow to know and love your work/you. Also, keep quality consistent and you'll give others a run for their money. Try even doing those fast sketch videos to show how you draw your cool art work! Keep it going and see your channel grow in no time.[DOUBLEPOST=1459539784][/DOUBLEPOST]
Thank you so much for doing this! I would love to know what you think about my channel! Thank you so much in advance!

@MrMauriceTL

Hi Maurice- Right away your banner is friggin awesome, as is the cartoon version of yourself. Love the wink pose, represents the badassery/mischeviousness that is to come when watching your content. The welcome video is intriguing- music+visuals kept my eyes peeled. Love how your channel is organized between diverse games, funny moments and in real life videos. This will allow people to go watch videos that appeal to them. Big plus is that you consider "long videos" to be over 8 minutes, which will get you in people's good books (attention span has gone down). Audio and game sound is very balanced, great quality! So is editing and facecam to gaming ratio. Also love your enthusiasm!

Things to improve on:
1) Right away, your new uncharted video seems to freeze randomly (hence why I think you have dislikes on it). No matter how many times I play it it never loads. Make sure you test watch your videos out on YT before making them public.

2) It's great that you play new games ie. Layers of Fear, Walking Dead Michonne etc, since your channel focuses mostly on gaming and you already have a larger following, I suggest you find a series that either people haven't seen before, or haven't played a lot of yet and make that your own. Think PewDiePie's Happy Wheels series or VanossGaming's constant gMod gameplays. Your content is great, very conventional gaming channel that people already love. But to make yourself stand out, you need to have something they remember. Again, PewDiePie had like 200 happy wheels videos, DashieXP rages a lot, Faze play COD. You want something that people will say "okay Mr Maurice does gaming, but his ________ gameplay is SO funny and original) etc. This will get you growth even more rapidly.

Other than that, you really have some great stuff going here, you just want to capitalize on your strengths and make yourself stand out even more. I see you getting where you want to in no time, so I wish you the best of luck! Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much! This made me smile like a littly baby! Really appreciate it! And yeah, I have some points to improve on! Just need to find a game to focus more on! And my Uncharted video freezes because it is all just a big joke! It's april fools day, right? Just wanted to troll my viewers, by letting them think I got the game already! I actually edited that buffering logo in there ;)

Thanks buddy! You got me even more motivated than ever!

Hi chris. I love when someone takes a part of his time to help other people in difficulty. If you have time you can check up my channel? That would be amazing!

@Winger94

Hi Winger, I really appreciate those words. I know how difficult it can be on the journey, always nice to have a fresh perspective. Glad to help.

Things I love: Your banner is very bold, and representative of what you are trying to achieve. I love your logo, reminds me of a mix between jurassic park and WWE wrestling- just looks badass.
Facecam, audio and gameplay visuals are great quality
Your personality is genuine, and you look very into your gameplay which is a big plus
I love that you focus on Horror and Indie, and make it blatantly apparent in both your about me and your thumbnails/banner. This makes a big difference and makes you stand out.

Things to improve on:
1) since your channel is newer (a month old), you want to have Much shorter videos. This early on, having videos ranging from 12-23 minutes will make it difficult for your audience to want to continue watching. Now I definitely know how much time you spent on editing so don't delete them!
Solution: If you can make your new videos shorter, and gain your audience's trust, they will DEFINITELY watch your older videos later on because they are good.

2) In addition to shortening videos, your game choices, although GREAT games, they are older now, or not popular. Dead Space has been played thousands of times as has Five Night's at Freddy's or even One Late Night. There is nothing wrong with this, but people won't be searching for these games, so it'll limit attention to your page.
Solution: Either play brand new games, or search for free/indie/app games that have come out on steam, google play, itunes, psn (which ever system you use). This, plus a title of the game and GAMEPLAY will help a lot, esp when you share it on here.

3) Take out Liked videos from your created playlists so that people can focus on your channel for now.

4) It may help to put your popular uploads playlist at the top of your page.

Other than this, you show promise, and a deep interest in the gaming world as well as the gaming community, which will be positively received as you continue on. You have already stayed dedicated for a month, it will only become much better from here. I truly hope this helped, and I wish you good luck on your journey![DOUBLEPOST=1459540937,1459540817][/DOUBLEPOST]

@MrMauriceTL

Maurice, I am very happy to hear that my words helped you. I truly see potential in your channel. Once you find that one game plus just keeping consistent with time, you will blow up and I will be seeing you on the homepage of YouTube! And with that resilient mentality, you will go far.

Lol oh my, you got me there!! Very clever my friend. It's a great idea, and for that you earned yourself a sub![DOUBLEPOST=1459541684][/DOUBLEPOST]
Hey can you review my channel please?

@SirKris

Hey Kris- Although you have no real layout on your channel and only one video, I can safely say I can see potential in a specific style. I also like the name SirKris (very simple but effective in gaming) and your about me is genuine and welcoming.

Your first video features a montage of COD gameplay and is editing pretty nicely. Have you thought about focusing your channel on top 10 highlights/quick cut gameplay with great moments and epic music? If you do it that way you may be onto something!

Since you only have one video, I won't tell you what to improve on but more so what you keep in mind.
1) Make sure you get a channel icon - either a funny picture from online, a customized logo (search for a commissioned or free designer on here or online)/same with the banner.
2) Audio quality, ensure that from the start you try to get audio that has clear sound. That being said, make sure the audio is not copyrighted or you will see the wrath of YouTube's infringement policies. There are many great places with free music. Even search Free YouTube Audio and it will take you to YouTube's own audio page.
3) I love the style of your thumbnail. Keep that up, but maybe in the future make the letters bright yellow or something else that pops out.
4) Make sure you stick to specific games since you started with a FPS, you may want to build your channel around that style (if you'd like)- just to keep in mind.

I hope these tips help you for the future. Welcome to the YouTube community, I wish you nothing but the best.[DOUBLEPOST=1459545349][/DOUBLEPOST]
Hey fam you still doing this? Would love a review if you got the time.

@Cabbage Hunters

Hey dude, definitely am!

Things I love: Lmfao at Cabbitches and the Firework video was NOT expecting that. In the same breath, right off the bat, be careful with using copyright music (yeah I know it's slowed down a bit, but YouTube seems to have so much fine print that any day a music label can still find a way to bring your channel down). But back to the pros! I love your banner, the colours and the style is fresh. The literal cabbage channel icon is both hilarious and straight to the point, much like Rooster Teeth (a pic of a rooster and teeth). It works well. Love that you keep green consistent with either thumbnail backgrounds or green text/subtitles for your recent videos. This is good branding right here. I love that you keep your main page organized with the "Cab-its" separate from gameplay. Makes it easier to navigate. Also loving the video time length, you guys are keeping it short and sweet.

Things to improve:
1) Audio: I know you guys commented on this in a video, but definitely need to eventually improve the mic and sound quality. A lot of gamers will dislike or not sub strictly based on sound quality esp if they see you've been on for 2 years. You guys have awesome stuff on there visually and comedically, improving the sound will just make your channel even more awesome.
2) Branding: Your Cab-its series reminds me of the TF2 animations (search TF2 SUCCESS by reemix), which is friggin awesome and viral worthy. I think you need to make a CRAP load more of those, even shorten them, and share the hell out of them on reddit, youtube forums and to friends. People will share them simply to laugh their butts off with friends, you really are onto something there. As for gameplays, you have great game choices (SW BF, Fallout 4, GTA 5) so keep those up. Just keep in mind, the recent thumbnails like Moon Launch and Worst Audio Ever, need a better font, that is not squished. Like the A face you can trust thumbnail is crisp and clear font wise.
3) Consistency: I see you guys make videos on and off. If you made more videos weekly and keep the thumbnails branded, I see your channel blowing up relatively quickly.

Overall, your channel has great ideas and offers a lot of entertainment value. I hope my advice helped even a bit and I look forward to seeing you guys progress in the near future.

Thanks fam! Appreciate the feedback. We actually have fixed the audio issue since our last video so we're good to go with that - i'll make a note to check out the TF2 SUCCESS thing, and will keep the other stuff in mind as well. Thanks again! :D

@Idec Sdawkminn

Right off the bat, love LOVE the organization on your main page. Considering you are doing a completely original, dare I say it unconventional (in a good way of course), channel style, the playlists definitely helped me understand what your channel was about within 10 seconds.

Between the matching horror-themed avatar & banners, inverted colour visuals, and creepy a** versions of our fav childhood shows (that Spongebob intro gave me the heebie jeebies as did Bonnie Tyler's music video yikes!) I'd say you are onto something incredible. Your following reinforces my sentiment.

As for improvements, since your content has a fresh take, all I can really see you improving is production quality. For instance, making your banner higher quality to pop out even more would help. Moreover, improving sound quality to be even clearer (your audio production is great, just at times I do hear a drop in quality sometimes, which can definitely be attributed to the source material itself, but tweaking the eq some more or even adding reverb and lower pitches at times will sound even creepier). Also, I think you would be able to gain even more of a following starting your own horror series, ie. voice dubbing popular cartoons/shows with original dialogue while keeping the same video style. I really hope this makes sense and helps you out.

Other than that, your channel engagement speaks volumes about how well you're doing already. You can only get better from here, and I see this channel taking off with more exposure. All the best to you!
Thank you! I will continue to experiment with the audio and that horror dub series sounds really interesting!
