Hi, an acquaintance of mine passed down a youtube channel to me with around 150k subscribers. He simply didn't want to upload a video anymore and hasnt in a little over 2 years, so he transferred the owner ship of the channel to me to hopefully to continue his success. But he told me to tell the subscribers nothing about this move, he simply told me to say "that i am new owner of channel and old youtuber wont upload anymore". But I kind of want to be more specific in explaining this movement a little more in detail, because I know many subscribers are going to ask and might get angry.

So I am asking from the community to try and help me come up with something to say to my subscribers without mentioning the old youtube that much (because he doesnt want to).

this is what I have written down so far to say:

"
before I end the video I have something to say to you guys, as you might have already noticed I am not mexicuttioner nor will I ever be. And I’m saying this in terms of username and person. Mexicuttioner has simply handed down the channel to me because of not uploading videos anymore. Now before any one gets mad and clicks dislike and unsubscribe, let me tell you this, would you rather have a great youtuber with a dead channel or have someone else take over it and start reuploading to the channel once again, with hopefully some similar great content. I understand how some might feel about this move, but please understand and don’t hate….. its your choice what you do next…. keep watching….. or say good bye… either way hope you guys enjoyed this video, and I might post one more gat vid before bo3 comes out….

peace.
"

Thanks for any advice, [Edited By Staff] Thanks again.

If he hasn't posted on the channel for 2 years chances are that the majority of subscribers will be dormant, its really unhealthy to have a massive audience but gaining small views as could potentially put new subscribers off.

Secondly they subscribed to your friend - unless you featured in videos with him on that channel chances are it might not work out - BUT I hope it does! This opening video idea is really good! Good luck! :D

I say, give a nice, articulate, speech in the first 30 seconds of the video. Or just make a whole video about it. If you say it well enough and give it enough emotion and logic, they'll completely understand and there will be no repercussions.
