"NetworkOfOne" - What is it?

One other thing to consider is that their company would also own the video. They would be able to license it out if they wanted and also be able to post it other places.

In another topic or earlier on this one, somebody said that the contract states that they only monetize the video on YouTube, not elsewhere.

This is what is confusing me though, from the few offers I've seen, they've been offering amounts that would only get them a profit in the long-term if even..

That's not my case. They want 30 top videos earning videos and only offered $45,000. That's an average of $1,500 each. This isn't peak ad season, it's May, but by December, they would already be earning their money back and it's in perpetuity after that.

Wow, that would be crazy to accept that!

I've seen them twice offer just under $100K for 5-10 videos both times the videos involved had 8 figures in views overall but had pretty much died off in terms of views / revenue at the present time, which is why I said that the deals seem to be un-favorable to them.

But based on your offer it seems that for the most part they'll be offering terms more along the lines of what other licensors offer! Perhaps what I've experienced then has been just on channels that are seeing a very large growth curve at present and they're hoping the videos will kick off again in the future.

I was informed by a representative who contacted me that they would own the video. The contract may say they are allowed to monetize it on YouTube, but that is only so they can content ID the video. Once they own the video, they can do whatever they want.

I found the original post but the don't give proof.

If you look in that thread, it was one of my original concerns, that they would own the content. That means that they can take it off YouTube and license it elsewhere and possible make even more money.

They offered me mid $xx,xxx for one video! The video is a week old and not my highest, but has very good traction. Are they really legit? Do they have an algorithm that shows a videos potential and that is why they offered me a boatload of money for it?

I doubt it, I've seen them offer to buy videos that are decreasing in views week-on-week.

I'm coming in late because they just sent me, what appears to be a too good to be true offer. They're offering me $4500 for one video. I've not seen a contract but I know enough to come solicit advice from this community first.

Email excerpt:
  • We will pay you $8,500.00 to run our advertisements on your one video "XXX"
  • We will pay you via paypal or bank, cash upfront, and the $4,500.00 investment is yours to keep.
  • Nothing changes about the control, operation or management of your channel and you have no obligations to us.
  • This deal does not impact any of the other videos currently in your channel or future videos that you will upload.
  • We will not be distributing the video elsewhere and we simply ask you to leave the video on your channel.
Obviously the first figure sounds more appealing than the second. This is a copy and paste style email they sent and I'm sure they forgot to change the numbers. That aside, what the heck am I missing?

I asked whether or not their ads supersede any ads I run via YouTube monetization. Haven't heard back on that one. I also asked about the duration of time they'll run ads on my video or if the licensing has a timeframe or limit? i.e. 3, 6, 12 months. I wouldn't agree to a deal where I'd lose all revenue on a particular video for any set time but if their ads don't affect my revenue on this video, why should I decline this offer?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

1. The time period is - perpetuity! They monetize the video forever and they get the revenue.

Their ads TOTALLY affect your earnings because you SOLD the rights to that video. You get ZERO after you accept the deal.

Of course, they only want your videos that are proven earners, correct?

Furthermore, you don't have ANY say-so on what ads they get. They also can put annotations on your video which could possibly link to outside websites. You waive all of your rights.
