More Subs or Views? Which one do you care the most?

Algorithmically, views are the most important, and their associated stats.
As a business, views are how you get paid, so they are what matters.
Subs are critical for getting the initial view counts that will propagate the video into search and suggested. Without subs the initial release of the video is dead, and the video can't get suggested placements due to low views.
Subs seem important for the corporate side, like a famebit account, and for negotiating better deals with MCNs. If you have 500k subs you can dictate terms to an MCN or walk away, if you have 10 subs, well you take their terms up the proverbial. I've also read that sponsored videos get paid by the number of channel subs, not expected or actual views.

Both subs and views are important, but subs are a touch more important, as they help give you the initial views of the videos you put out. Sure, not all subs watch every video, but every view a video gets helps push it up the rankings.

Not sure if I understand correctly what you said here, do you have a source where you got this from to read more?

one was a post here a while back:
yttalk.com/threads/why-you-shouldnt-join-a-network.222146/page-2

and there was a post on a website I read a while back that talked about the subscribers vs. sponsorship $ but I didn't save the link to it and can't find it now :-(

hey there, i care about views, but if you are trying to make money from your videos (get sponsored) you have to have at least 5K subscribers, and i would love to make money from my videos, that is not through the google Adsense, but as of now, i am more interested in my views, because i have way more views than my subs, haha. i have just hit 19.000 views, with 724 subscribers. (I have also been fluctuating between 722 and 725 for the past like, 2 weeks or so...

Ah okay, no worries, thanks for checking it!

It's hard to say... more subs will promise you more initial views on your videos, but the views are what get you more on top of the YouTube search engine thus getting you more subs. It's a trade off. :)

I definitely look at views first, but not in the way that I'll make videos to garner a new audience. My mindset to get views is to try and make a video that will interest my current audience, so if I get high views on my videos it means I've catered to my little audience which is I guess the goal in the end for me x)
