Monotone YouTubers...

I think it's like when I make a video and think it's good then watch it the next day and think what the actual hell I'm doing...it's like that. They don't realise it haha

I do have to agree with this. When they hype it up too much, it's displeasing to listen to and makes the listeners uncomfortable.
Personally, I have to work on being less monotone as it is my first time talking to a mic while I play my games. Hopefully I can improve upon it only to a decent amount where I'm in my comfort zone.
 
I agree. I feel like most YouTubers with monotones do it unintentionally and are so used to their own voice they don't even notice. I think it can also stem from them just not knowing how enthused or emotional to sound (especially if they're using a script) and instead opting to try and let it naturally flow out. Of course, that ends up making it very unnatural and almost robotic.
 
It's just a lack of effort more than anything else. They clearly are uploading for the sake of uploading, not the fun adjourned to the hobby.
 
I find monotone a bit better than the people who are yelling half the time, but maybe that's just me.

As for my videos, I find I'm not really monotone in my live-commentaries anymore, but I have some problems with it in post-commentary and planned out videos. To me it seems the hardest thing to do is be calm, but still sound interesting, but it's the kind of videos I would want to watch, so I try to create videos like that too. Also, it fits my personality better, I mean, if I try to sound like a screaming moron, nobody's going to buy that.
 
I find this a lot with people that are new. I think some people just tense up when a camera or microphone is in front of them.
I had an issue for a while when I was shooting promos for wrestling I would put on this weird voice and tone it. Oh was horrible.

I've tried faking a different voice, it doesn't work. I'm a little more flexible with tone today, but I am naturally monotone.
 
Now I am getting really nervous about my content I am offering as people seem to enjoy more bland things xD oh noseeeee ;(
