Michelle Phan getting sued

While I agree that if she chose to ignore buying licenses that she should be threatened with legal action. It just blows my mind that they would consider each one of their songs worth $150k a piece. That's simply what I was saying, the price they set to sue at just seems completely inhumane. It'd be another story if they were suing for say $2,000 a song. Especially considering the people in comments who always ask for the song name and end up finding a new song to add to their inventory.
It's not 150k a song, she used many songs per video in alot of videos, that added up equals alot of money.

Its just them taking advantage of the fact she is very big. They believe that she will have the money. It would have been okay if perhaps they met with her and discussed it, but this is 10x worse than a copyright strike done in the same way!

Its bull. Its from videos on youtube where they use music like this is where a majority of my Ipod music library comes from. All the classical music I listen to are from damn sonic sprite battles! And they are only using copyrighted content!

I'm not taking sides because the facts haven't been revealed. Whether we have the songs on our iPod or not, doesn't matter. The factor is, did she have the rights to use the songs. It doesn't matter if it is background music or not.

And this is why I am going to refrain from using copyrighted songs in my videos. :p

Those copyrighted songs aren't as evil as they may look like. Phan is just playing her Drama Card since she obviously hadn`t considered that while everyone else does have to pay Ultra Records something if they want to use their Tracks she doesn`t have to do so for whatever reason she came up with in her twisted mind during that time even after Ultra Records reached out to her and told her that it would be better to work out something with them or else...

What makes the hole thing now even worse is that her legal team or whomever she might have actually asked to be her legal advisor in this case did, at least in my eyes, the dumbest thing they could do:

a.) Announcing publically that she will sit down with the team of Ultra Records and everyone else that she might have used their content in the past without a contract to work out something since she didn`t wanted to ever break any US law at any moment and hadn`t considered during the time she had put up the Videos that she actually had done that again and again and...

b.) Suing Ultra Records and blaming them that she might actually getting harmed by the lawsuit and now is suing the counterparties.

Just to be clear:

a.) would have been be actually the right way since that way she would actually shown everyone that she is taking the hole thing seriously and want to get over it as soon as possible without much more drama.

Sadly they hadn`t done that and instead choose b.) which now will more or less lead to that she will have to now pay Ultra Records more then they had probably asked her to do straight from the beginning since now they will consider her as someone who otherwise hadn`t done it if they don`t sue her for every single track she had used in the past for the time she hadn`t had a contract that allowed her to use the track for a timeperiod x over and over again.

Again I still can`t believe that she had let it come that far since this hole thing could have stopped without the hole world knowhing if she just had worked out something with Ultra Records after they had got in contact with her probably a couple of months ago before this hole thing blow up to something she now probably regret even more then ever before.

Michelle Phan is in prison. She had gotten sued by YouTube copyright. She was using other artists music in her YouTube videos as her own. She violated YouTube terms. Copyright Infringement. That means fraud. You can't even used copyrighted music in social media. You'll get flag.
