Michelle Phan getting sued

I like the comments on that article. A lot people believe anyone should use anyone's IP freely, without restraint and without payout. Michelle Phan is lucky. The record companies could file some copyright strikes on the relevant videos and get her channel taken down couldn't they? Well that wouldn't be totally beneficial to 'em. Better that they are telling her to pay up. Anyway, I guess it's a lesson learned. That is if they are really going forward with a case.[DOUBLEPOST=1405748636,1405748199][/DOUBLEPOST]

I'm pretty sure the article meant as in the money she has made from her videos that used their music which was said to rack up to around 150 million views.

Yes because she got so popular from using music in the background of a video.. I don't listen to electrionic 'music' really, so I can't tell, though ALL of her profits, that seems excessive.
 
I had to do some digging on this matter but Michelle Phan actually had a license to use copyrighted music before when she was with the first Network she had started. She has moved around a bit in the Network area but she hasn't had that copyrighted music protection for a while now. So she has been neglecting the TOS on YouTube as well as copyright law. You'd think she'd be better covered since she's been on YouTube for so long and has had like two Networks. Trouble with copyrighted music is an amateur's mistake on YouTube.

Yes, I obviously know it was just her videos because it even states it in there if im not mistaken I just find it funny because imagine the money from 150m views
