Massive drop in views on kid channels

It’s crazy and not fair to kid creators. FTC and google need to develop some kind of hybrid ad to help family creators.
Not gonna happen. As an animator from long ago i remember the day they changed the system and there was a mass of exodus that never came back. But here it's even worse as FTC is dictating this, and since it's about children/monetization its over.

Also I have no idea why you say FTC is money hungry, this is clearly not the case. The ads being shown to kids/collecting their info was wrong, kids do not understand that ads/or sponsored content disclaimers (and just absorb what they are shown), and there are countless adsense payers on forums who made blocklists of kid channels because they all felt that money being used on those channels was a waste.

So ironic this is about the collecting of data of kid viewers, meanwhile that data was trash to advertisers. I paid for google ads before and I could see how companies unknowingly wasting ads on children were a bonanza to youtube.

Money is not wasted. Kids see a nice toy advertised and they want it. Also kid channels on TV advertised why it should be over on the internet. There should be a restructuring that will benefit only quality content and not a pregnant spiderman with elsa. There is nothing wrong with collecting data. What they collect? someone watched mickey mouse and left this comment "dfgdfsgdfnklgnldf" FTC is ran by old farts and needs to have a fresh look at things. This is not 1998. Well, at the end if everyone thinks kids content wastes money, no in-content ads are allowed who is going to make kids content? Only big companies like like leap frog with their alphabet factory. It's like giving power back to big to big brewers like Coors and telling craft makers they cannot make their beer. Drink nasty Coors

P.S. and yes governments are money hungry. They have wars and proxy wars to wage somewhere in the middle ..... Someone needs to create FTC that can watch over these as...holes so they don't start wars and waste tax payers' money. Better make an AI and blockchain technology to replace them all. No bribes, no personal issues between each other

He means wasted because ads for adults like a Ford car commercial or commercial for insurance were being played to children viewers. They were not the intended audience. The ads were meant for the parents who owned the youtube account.

Then they should come up with another way to help this niche. How a small studio can afford animators, computers, rendering etc. It seems that all kids content creators are walking green mile

This is why I believe that by making us self select videos as being specifically aimed at under 13s, we are helping advertisers to target this age group far better than they ever could before. Kids videos will end up with the most highly targeted passive advertising on YouTube as a result - which in the long run could benefit us.

I don't agree with this at all. I am not sure you realize what was just said. It was pretty bad.

I'm not under any illusion that things will tank, believe me.

What I'm trying to say is that at least kids content will be explicitly marked as such going forward, which should still ensure that advertisers who want to reach the under-13 demographic can without needing to collect data in the existing manner.

Finally, someone that is actually reasonable here. You have people using terms like "old farts" to describe highly articulate and successful lawyers and we wonder why the public views kid content creators in such a negative light. Look, the days of getting rich off making kids content is gone. If it is about money for you, ride out your four months and leave. Rest assured, some of us content creators will keep making content even at a loss because we love to do this with our families and share free content with others that is not harmful. This is what made Youtube popular with kids to begin with. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Google and some of these big channels get hammered furthered for throwing us down this hole.
