Does anyone else have this problem? It seems that they gave away all the traffic to just a handful of big channels. How do you even make content anymore when they took all your traffic away?
I'm beginning to see the signs of a very gentle upwards trend in my video views over the past few days after a dire end to last week- today my views have gone up by about 20% again. Nowhere near pre-drop levels, but it's definitely on an upward curve. Fingers crossed this sticks. Anyone else seeing something similar?
I messaged them via the chat function but got the usual generic answers and they were no help.
Interesting to note that some of my videos have started reappearing in the recommended bar after watching them - I just tried watching on someone else's account and they're back in the sidebar after watching.
Hopefully this is the start of a return to the way things were...
They didn't go from "nothing" - They went from around 150k views per day to approx 600k views per day since the 13th July. Maybe you are new to Youtube but that sort of growth is what happens when a channel blows up. This isn't something new. Look at the stats of any big channel in any niche. There will be a moment in time where their traffic doubled 2 or 3 times in the space of a few weeks.
YouTube is a zero sum game ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero-sum_game ) When one channel gets a boost in traffic, other channels get a decrease in traffic. That's because there is only a finite amount of time viewers can physically watch vids for in a day and also because there are only a finite number of slots in the suggested video sidebar etc.
