Mac or PC?

I edit on both pc & mac. I personally prefer a mac. I own a macbook pro 15" with some small upgrades myself that costed me 1500 euro's in 2010 and It still can handle any HD material I throw at him.
My only con is the space, you cant easely improve disk space on a macbook or imac and for editing you will need it. I work on a space of 60Gb and safe finished projects on a hard disk.

I dont have a lot of knowledge of computer building but when editing things will feel slow after a while and I have that feeling a lot less on a mac than pc.
 
I would say a custom pc. You can build it to your specifications and it won't be too expensive if your on a budget. I personally have one and it's great
 
Mac is for great media stuff they provide their own software called "iLife" which Garageband and iMovie can very helpful to you, but very expensive. PC on the other hand is also good for their price, but sometimes lack of programs for editing videos and music. (But is all depends on what types of hardware you can get from PC)

It's opinion. What's true is that more programs work/are designed for PC and while being WAY cheaper. I also can't stand when people act like Microsoft is the big bad evil corporation when Apple is the BIGGEST corporation between the two. In fact it's not even close.
