Large subscriber boost!?

I had 39 subscribers yesterday, I checked back today and I had 52?! I usually only gain a sub a day. And this wasn't youtube lagging behind. Why would I have such a sudden boost? Are these bots?

EDIT: Still going up past 60 subs, but the rate has slowed down. I think I was shared somewhere as a few videos have got a sudden view boost. (I am losing some of them as well)

It's unlikely that someone has botted subscribers to you, because as far as I know, those 'services' cost money (against YouTube rules anyway). But, as the poster above said, it's probably people that love your content. Keep it up.

I think it's only if the subscriber has it publicly shown? I could be wrong but I haven't had emails every time someone has subscribed, only a few times.
