Is reddit a good place to promote videos?

i would suggest not using it, its likely you will gain more negative than positive try some other forums or video sharing sites and leave a backlink to your youtube videos and channel maybe. I tend to promote to a more direct audience rather than a general community like reddit.
 
I got really lucky with my first video on Reddit - someone who is a respected poster liked it, shared it, and I got 100k views in one day! and about 150k over its 3 day life on Reddit.

And in my experience, views generate more views. so my 1m views video gets 10 times more self promotion from YouTube than my other 100k videos.

Omg... so Reddit is already known for having some douchy trolls just meandering around all it's sections. But cringe is like where the worst of the worst gather to do nothing but hate. ANYTHING, I mean ANYTHING that gets put in cringe will get tons and tons of hate comments flooding in and dislikes out the wazoo, I was put in there 3 times, once I managed to not really get noticed, but the other two times it was like 3 days straight of nothing but hate comments and dislikes, I think one video topped out at like 150 dislikes. You don't want to be in cringe LOL

You know at first I was embarrassed, but I've thought about this a little harder... I might just LET you sub....
 
Oh god I love the Cringe subreddit. I was just browsing it a few hours ago.

However, sometimes they are just down right ridiculous! Some videos aren't even cringe-worthy!
