Is it harder for Vloggers?!

I have a gaming channel for let's say 6 minths now and it has 99 subs and +5k views so that took a while, just gonna find out now how my vlogging channel will do, I started yesterday and it got 6 subs now. You're doing great btw!

I just wanted to see where everyone was at and where I should be at. This thread really did put my mind at ease as I was stressing it!! But thanks for your comment.

In fairness there's no place "where you should be at" and you shouldn't be stressing. I know everybody likes/wants to have subscribers and it's so encouraging to gain some, but you should be concentrating on making good content. It shouldn't bother you so much that you start stressing. Everybody's channels grow at different speeds. There's no way to say how you should be doing at the moment.

Actually I think vloggers have an advantage. There are so many gaming channels because the videos are easier to make. Fewer people are willing to sit in front of a camera so you have less competition.

I've done both gaming and vlogging, and I have to say gaming was easier. More thought is required in trying to make an entertaining vlog, while I guess for me, making a quality gaming video came out more naturally, especially since I was either with friends in a Skype call or I already had the footage set and ready to go. In a vlog, you have to make sure you look nice, the lighting's right, and the background is set, but making a gaming video takes that out. When making a gaming video, I could just find a forum or place where people would focused on the game, but for vlogs it's harder to find a target audience. While there probably are more gamers right now looking to get "youtube famous," more people search for those games. For instance, someone might search "Minecraft Let's Play" or "Portal 2 Walkthough" but it's very unlikely that someone will search up vlog titles, such as "Question Tag" or "My Dentist Appointment Today!" Vloggers usually need a somewhat viral video to get out there, but when I was making gaming videos, I didn't really need that. Of course, it's not easier by a whole lot, and both depend on good content and sharing, but it seems like getting started was easier when I was doing gaming.
