Is it harder for Vloggers?!

I think it really depends on what kind of vlogger you are. There's quite a bit difference between a daily vlogger talking about their lives and a topical vlogger talking about news and events.

I do think that a topical blogger does tend to get more view though, especially if they focus on a niche like gaming news only.

Do some research about how to improve your video SEO. I notice you're putting the date in your video titles, while this makes sense it's not actually going to help anyone find your videos.
I would suggest thinking of ways to drive traffic to your channel, then having good content for them to subscribe for. At the moment you have some nice content but mainstream traffic can't find it, you need some "hit videos".

I would suggest watching videos from VideoCreatorsTV, he makes helpful and informative videos that could help a channel like yours.

Yeah I understand about the titles. I guess it just makes it easier for other people to see that we are being consistent and being true to our Daily Vlogs. I will consider your ideas and thank you[DOUBLEPOST=1397618472,1397618362][/DOUBLEPOST]
I think only in the sense that the majority of gaming channels/viewers have a common interest in games. Whereas for vloggers it really depends on the person and what they talk about. There's no obvious common interest between the viewer and the content creator, it just depends on how likeable and engaging the vlogger is. So I guess because of that it can take vlogging channels a bit longer to find and develop a fan base. Some of them never really develop at all and I think a lot of it is down to luck. Based on your growth so far though I'd say your doing good job! I checked out a couple of your vids as well. Good work so far, keep it up!

I appreciate it. Since tonight we have gone from 80 to 87 in 5hrs...So I guess we should just keep doing what we are doing and moving forward. Make better content as we learn!!

Can you explain? I was honestly just wondering because I dont know how we are doing compared to everyone else. It seems like people have a harder time with Vlogging

Just to add to what wreckless said, Vloggers have so much more choice and room for creativity with their videos. You can literally go and do what you want where as someone like a gamer on youtube is restricted to the content they are playing etc

Definitely! Use this for example: Youtube promotes gaming channels alot, and this is because the algorithm is based of retention scores. Since most gaming videos are in playlists and parts that are 10 minutes each, there retention scores are threw the roof!! Also making them get extra promotion. Vloggers on the other hand have videos uploaded less often, and not in parts that sell as easily. Also there titles can not come close to competing with gaming SEO titles.

Just my belief tho.

Yeah I completely agree. I have to push for people to enjoy me and get their attention or I could easily loose them...Like some of my videos I will be really hilarious, but not until the 4-5min mark because something will happen, but if I dont retain your interest for 4-5min then you will never see what I have to offer. I am working on this, but I feel like the "Daily Vlogger" is still kinda new and most people that I talk to have no clue what "vlogging" is...So its hard to get them to come watch me.

I think you know you're at a good pace & just want to go fishing.

I have to agree with that. I mean, how could anyone just starting out be disappointed by that pace? It took me around six years to get to almost 80 subscribers, who would complain about getting there in less than a month?

That makes a lot of sense! I've never considered that before. I think the whole vlogging movement or scene or industry or whatever you want to call it is still up and coming... so maybe we'll see things move over to our favour in the future?

Gaining subscribers is hard no matter what genre you are targeting. The problem isn't always content but more centered around the fact that YouTube is flooded with content every minute of every day so if you are starting out in an overpopulated space then you will have to work even harder to get noticed. The goal should be to make content that you would watch and to be active in the community so that when people see you they become more interested in who you actually are; then they are willing to hit that subscribe button. Just have fun!

Quick question? Did it seem like I was complaining? Im sorry if it seemed that way. I really just didnt know what a good pace was or where I was at. Im new at this and will take all the feedback that I can. I just wanted to see where everyone was at and where I should be at. This thread really did put my mind at ease as I was stressing it!! But thanks for your comment.

Hopefully! I feel like Youtube needs to find a middle ground with the promotion to help boost vlogging. I explained this to the Google Research Team last year at Playlist LIVE 2013 when they had a private group discussion on the Play Book. Id like to see the system get a update.
