Today i received mail from Fullscreen which says,
We’d like to give you a quick heads-up on some recent changes YouTube made. Why should you care? Because these changes affect how you earn ad money on your videos, and they also raise important legal / copyright issues.

In the past, if you wanted to place ads on a video, you had to click a box on your YouTube Video Manager to ‘claim’ the video. Well, not anymore. YouTube now automatically places ads on your videos because you’re partnered with Fullscreen!

This is great, but as always you need to be careful to only upload content that’s entirely your own, original creation. If you want to earn ad money, your videos must only contain music and images that you yourself created or properly licensed from rights holders.

With YouTube’s new update, it might sometimes be necessary for you to change your ‘Usage Policy’ when you upload a new video. If you don’t own all—100%—of the content in a video, you must change your Usage Policy from ‘Monetize in all countries’ to ‘Track in all countries’. Please note that this is only necessary for new uploads to your channel.

Here’s how to change your Usage Policy, step by step:

YouTube’s update is a good reminder to always be aware of potential copyright issues in your videos. Please remember that as a Fullscreen creator you’re only allowed to upload content that you yourself created or properly licensed. You aren't allowed to use third-party material or other intellectual property without the correct license agreements.

Whats your take on this?

Wrong, this is happening due to YouTube's new 'Partner' vs 'Affiliate' system.

Sounds like Fullscreen is going for primarily "Partners" which means if you screw up copyright they are more obligated to help you fight it as too many marks against them by their partners = bad news. Bit surprised by this honestly, as they won't be able to keep a close eye on their 1000s and 1000s of channels.

In terms of copyright, this truly is nothing new, just more/closer enforcement of the rules.

sorry.. I'm just p****d of on what is happening so.... I wonder what all networks will do? managed bigger networks then smaller networks on Affiliate? or all the channel will be on Managed group within a network?

We don't know yet but let's face it. If you violate copyright, the copyright owner isn't going to sue you. They are going to sue the network. Because of this, the networks are going to protect themselves from being taken to court.

It's one thing to claim 'fair use'. It's another to prove it in court.

There is nothing new in this or is there? This changes were made a couple of weeks ago when they added the ''track in all countries'' tab. And as for owning the right like I said this is nothing new it is always YouTube policy that you own the rights to upload videos. So I don’t see the big change here? And after reading this massage I also don’t see anywhere mentioned that Full Screen won’t protect you when getting in to trouble.

Bu than again I never felt protected by my network I had a copyright issue a year ago and I was with a network and they did not do anything about the strike or something so it was never so that network’s helped you in any way when you received a third party id match or a copyright strike.

No actually the ability to auto-claim videos in an MCN has been around for nearly 2 weeks now, meanwhile the ruleset above isn't coming in for 2-3 weeks.[DOUBLEPOST=1383653414,1383653349][/DOUBLEPOST]

Most likely, pretty much all networks will go affiliate for smaller channels and managed for the bigger ones.
