How useful are TY shoutouts?

I think shoutouts are ruining YouTube, I don't think you want to be that person with 10,000 subs and only get 50 views. Shoutouts gets you subs, correct, but they are all usually inactive, they subscribe because a person says so. They will either unsubscribe to you, never watch you or maybe stay and watch. Though you want to create active subscribers. A great way of doing so is collaborating with others YouTubers.

I've gotten one shoutout as well by someone from this site actually.

Lol you were kissing the youtubers a** or what? It's alright if you were, it's hard to get noticed these days.

As I said, I do not kiss people's a**'s just to get noticed. I joined his channel and got it in like 2 days because I was smart about it. Problem is, his channel is quite bad tbh, and it showcased my channel in a bad way. Additionally, he did not say anything hinting towards my having any good content, so yea.[DOUBLEPOST=1456287197,1456287108][/DOUBLEPOST]

I stopped caring about shoutouts either they are just giving you a shoutout for the sake of making a video regardless of quality or actual interest or they want you to bolster their channel by forcing you to sub, be active, comment, etc and at the end of the day you don't get the shoutout and repeat the cycle all over again. If someone gives you a genuine shout because they like what you do then its awesome but I wouldn't bother seeking them out.

But if you exclude the time and waiting cons. Do you think that when you get the actual shoutouts. Do they help?

No maybe a few people come over, say they saw my video in a shoutout then next video they are all gone, unless an established youtuber helps you out I've never seen a shoutout help a channel that much
