How to promote your videos

A lot of really great ideas floating around here! For some of us, they're not really applicable, though. I, for example, do gaming (yas, mostly CoD), so there aren't many blogs/subreddits/whatevers that will allow self-promotion because there are so many doing it. Makes sense, but it sucks :P

Twitter is... meh, again, everyone is trying to do the same thing!
 
I've found that yes, a lot of people hate Google +, BUT it can really help you get some traffic to your content if you post in the right communities.

yh its really annoying. for me google+ gets me +1s on the comments but doesn't actually help in getting the views for some reason. its like they're just liking the vid without watching.
 
Reddit is a clusterfuck, but it works for me. lol if you post in the right subreddit you will get a good amount of views. I need to build up my karma so I can post my speed paintings in the 'Video' subreddit.

Twitter is hit or miss. It's fantastic if you have a good amount of people following you (I don't). Your followers will retweet your videos, allowing many more people who didn't know about you to see your content. If you're lucky, someone with a huge following will retweet you and you'll gain some subs and a few thousand views. This happened with two of my speed paintings.

Google+ is ok. It depends on the community though. Some want to watch your content and some don't. They're more into looking at pictures and gifs.

I didn't have patience for Facebook.
