How much money do you put into your Youtube channel? (Priority Question)

Props depend on what I'm filming e.g Airsoft guns and spray painted would be around £70

If I don't count that I quit my job when I started my channel, and I'm not making any money since 6 months...
I don't spend too much money on it.
Specifically just for my channel:
$100 a month for voice over/sound mixing.
$25 a month for my Adobe Premiere license.
$300 for a laptop I bought just to edit videos on.
But there are other expenses like my apartment, which basically is my office too
food, drink? XD I just bought a better phone, and 90% of time I'm using it for checking comments on my channel. etc.
So it is hard to tell.
But for me it was an investment, with a business plan. And I really hope that sooner than later it starts making money.

2 Dell XPS 15z's $3k
1 Macbook Pro $2k
2 Copys of Sony Vegas Pro (one for each Dell) $800
Final Cut Pro $300
3 LED lights $300
3 Soft Box lights $200
Heil PR40 Mic $300
Microphone Boom Arm $100
Focusrite Scarlett Solo (for the mic to usb) $100
Canon T5i DSLR $600
Rode Videomic $150
GoPro Hero 4 Silver $400
Sony HDR PJ540 $500
Toys (rough average) $500 Monthly
Rough total (rounded up for misc things I'm sure I missed) - $9500'ish
I'm sure I am missing a bunch of the little things here and there, but that's the bulk of it. A bunch of the items like the Heil, the Focusrite, and the DSLR we just got so we will be using them for future videos once we finish remodeling the studio this week (not included in the equipment list above).
Wow, now that I see all those numbers, I may need to add in the cost of a good psychiatrist to make sure I haven't gone crazy!

A bit more than I realized. Back when I first started I bought a $40 on a webcam. Back in January I spent $60 on a point and shoot + rechargeable batteries. And just this month I bought a $150 Cannon camera.
$250 yo. Not a lot compared to these other big spenders, but I'm super cheap and it really starts to add up.

I've Got It
Outside of basic equipment,computer,camera etc, I spend 0, . I don,t think a venue like Youtube requires much investment, common sense about lighting and audio helps. You will not be able to compete with large producers for video quality, only CONTENT counts.

I am currently doing most if not all of my videos through my laptop webcam and the quality is good enough to pass as good (I can record 720p clean depending on lighting)
I am however thinking of investing in a handheld camera that can record maybe 1080p for the highest quality video possible but for now I'm just gonna focus on delivering good quality content and creating relationships with other upcoming YouTuebrs
