How long did it take you to reach 100 subs

I was an inactive channel for about 7 years with about 30 subscribers (I don't know why they subscribed, but they did), so to get to about 150 or so, it took about 6 or 7 months, I think? Then it picked up quite a bit.

wow looking at all these replies it makes me feel bad about my first channel, but it took a huge break but it took about 2 years haha.[DOUBLEPOST=1467951358,1467951306][/DOUBLEPOST]
24 days. no advertising. no friends or family joining. just good titles and SEO
Do you have any small bits of advice that you can give out?? lol

Like @xingcat I had a pretty inactive channel for 8.5 years and I'd fluctuate between 0 and 2 subscribers during that time. I actively started putting up videos for the purpose of actually having a channel around the end of 2014. While I got in the tens of thousands of views, I still got barely any subscribers until April 2015 when one of my videos became related to a new video on a really popular channel and my views and subscribers boomed. From the 10th through the 19th of April, my subscriber count increased by anywhere from 75 to 134 per day.

So, on one hand you could say it took me more than 9 years to reach 100. But looking at it a different way, I went from a few to 100 in a couple days. A lot of it depends on what video(s) are going to become popular and get shared or show up beside other videos.

for me, it was picking the right game, consistency of uploading to show people i would be around a long time. i made a thread all about understanding sub growth and my story here http://yttalk.com/threads/understanding-your-subscriber-growth.220507/

About 8 months. Everyone is different.
It sounds like super generic advice, but at such low sub counts you should worry more about your product than vanity numbers.
You don't magically start growing faster after 100 subs. If you see people's growth accelerating, it's because their content is getting better and not simply because a few more people subbed.

I'll let you know when I get there stuck at a measly 25 and have been uploading for a while now. Not sure what I'm doing wrong?!

@lucy marriott
I remember when I was stuck at 17. Make sure to promote your videos in the google + communities that helped me a lot. I try to share my videos almost everywhere, facebook page, twitter, instagram, google, blogger, pinterest, ello. i got some subscribers through fullscreen. with fb, instagram and twitter if you don't already use hashtags, you should.! that helped me A LOT! I will share a couple of your videos on twitter. I hope this helps! :)

when i first started out i was so scared to talk and now with each video that i upload, i feel i am getting more confident. I feel my content is improving.
