How Does YouTube Recommend Live Streams? Seeking Advice on Algorithm Behavior

Hello,
I stream live on my YouTube channel, but I can’t fully understand how the algorithm recommends live streams. I’d appreciate it if someone knowledgeable could explain this to me.

Viewers who join my live streams from recommended videos or other live streams watch for an average of 6–7 minutes, which I believe is a good number. My streams initially get 20–30 viewers, and they appear in the recommended section of about 30–40 channels. However, after a certain point, the recommendations suddenly stop, and the growth in viewership halts.

In the past, with the same average watch time, I used to reach 250–300 viewers. Currently, there’s been a slight decline in my regular videos, but I don’t think that’s a major issue. It feels like the algorithm favors me during specific periods and shifts to others at different times.

My competitors are getting significantly more views, even though I don’t believe their content quality is as good as mine. I’d like to know what I can do to improve my performance and whether there are strategies to overcome this situation.

Thank you!
